Guest guest
I haven't been around in awhile. I had my left thryoid removed in Jan of this year. I just need some opinions about my recent labs. My TSH usually use to be in the 1.0 - 1.9 range all the time before this. Anyhow what do you guys think? FREE T4 - 0.88 Normal values (.89-1.76) TSH 2.218 - Normal values (0.4-5.5)<--I noticed the OLD values! TRIIODOTHYRONIN - 119 Normal Values (80-180) Suggestions? I do have 15mg of Armour thyroid here, should I start taking some or is Armour a good choice for this? Hugs, Canasa
Guest guest
What is 15mgs, 1/4 a grain? I don't think that's nearly enough if you had your thyroid removed. Your levels look low to me. And you need to be tested for Free T3. But your Free T4 is really low. How do you feel? Guest guest
If you have had your left thyroid removed then you need to replace the hormones it was producing. 15 mg is a good start but more than likely too low. It is hard to tell what the rightside of the thyroid is producing and how the body is reacting ..Do you have Free's from before so you can gauge what your normal level is? Armour is a good choice unless your Free 3's are high.. > > > I haven't been around in awhile. > > > > I had my left thryoid removed in Jan of this year. > > > > I just need some opinions about my recent labs. Guest guest
There is a difference between Free T3 and T3. Your last labs only tested you for just T3 (TRIIODOTHYRONIN). Based on your symptoms you sound really HypoT. I would start out on the 15mgs of Armour for at least 2-3 weeks and see how you feel. If you still feel HypoT (I imagine you will), this I would increase another 1/4 grain. It's important to slowly increase. And if you can check your Free T3 in the meantime, that would be helpful. But I would go ahead and start on the low dose of Armour. Just my opinion. SAMMIE --- Char wrote: > > > My Free T3 was high back in like Feb or so? Just > high, not that > high.
