Guest guest
Hi Geeta, Well firstly I felt very sad when I read your post, and did not know what to say. then I realised you said you have been implementing these interventions for only 6 months. This is not very long you know. Also implementing all of them within 6 months, you will not know which if any may be a problem for your child, and which if any may be good for your child... It is a good idea to start with one at a time, monitor results and then introduce the next. Also, something like yeast? have you addressed that? could possibly be masking any advances that may be happening. I am sure there are other things which could impede progress, these are just my initial thoughts. There are people much more experienced on list. High copper is very toxic. I believe zinc is the recommended way to lower it, although there may be other ways. There may be other issues, I'm commenting on this one because I recall the high copper issue. Copper toxicity acts a lot like mercury toxicity I believe. I believe that Andy, in his book, talks about copper tox and making sure that is not the problem when trying to decide if mercury is a problem, since they can look similar (in terms of symptoms). Other than this, it would depend upon testing your son for things. One you don't mention is a cranial exam, which you may want to consider--- although you could just work on the copper first. best wishes, Moria
Guest guest
Geeta, DMSA and ALA both contain high levels of Sulphur. Our kids have problem with sulphur detox metabolism, so I do not recommend DMSA/ALA. Since you haven't seen any improvements from DMSA/ALA, I will suggest you to try IP6. This kind of confusion is ofen diagnostic for which specific brain structure is involved and knowing that you can often figure out what supplement or other intervention to use even if the mainstream guys don't have anything to prescribe that helps. This kind of very specific cognitive defect is often quite diagnostic once you get in front of the proper person. Andy . . . . . .. . Guest guest
Geeta, Why don't you try sitting next to him in front of a mirror and pointing to yourself and then to him for him to identify who is who. Also, show pictures of family members with the name written underneath (or without) and have him receptively and then expressively identify each family member. My son did the same thing with greetings as he would say " hello Evan " instead of the other person's name. These ideas helped him. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! Guest guest
Hi Geeta, You have not mentioned trying Applied Behavior Analysis. ABA has greater research support than all of the various therapies mentioned put together. Perhaps it's time to try a quality, ABA based teaching program. Having supervised ABA programs in preschools as well as privately in home based programs for several years, I have now seen literally hundreds of children make remarkable gains through the use of ABA. My son tolerates basically no supplements, even with enzymes, so you might consider removing supplements and see if that helps. Also consider ABA. We started with lots of hope all the treatments about 6 > > months back. He has regressed after the treatments. Yeast caused my son to regress after chelation, you might need a more potent yeast treatment than just probiotics. http://www.autismchannel.net/dana/yeast.htm Dana
Guest guest
Greeta, Along the same lines - I would sit across from , put my hand on my chest and say I'm mommy, then put my hand on his chest and say you're . Then I would put his hand on his chest and say I'm then take his hand and put it on my chest and say you're mommy. He knew who each of us was, he just had trouble with the point of view.
