I don't remember if I posted this here or not cause I am so tired, but if I didn't, would you all keep the victims/family members/staff/paramedics/police etc in your prayers. The shooting at NIU is in DeKalb which is about an hour and ten min from here and about 10 min from Chucks neurologist.

I posted on my prayers group to see if anyone would have some shawls to send so they can be delivered. One lady is waiting to hear back from them via email about prayer cloths and Donna and her husband work at NIU. She said she would be glad to help. So we are going to try to coordinate something to get some cloths and shawls off to those involoved.

Hi Challis,

Chuck is doing much better since he got his tooth taken out. He had the stitches removed today.

Prayers cloths are either knitted, crocheted, sewn, loomed, or quilted. Originally they started out as 3X3 or 4X4 inch squares the our servicemen and women could put in their pockets or helmets. Now they have expanded the sizes to 12X12 or what ever size you feel is appropriate. The bigger ones can be given to anyone and they can put their Bible, cross, prayer intentions etc on them and then pray. Some of the ladies are making both sizes for NIU. Others we are making shawls. I received my first 3 shawls today. As soon as I get about 25 we will take them to NIU.

Thanks for the prayers. How are you doing? I don't get to read all posts. :-( The breast cancer membership is up over 2500 and between keeping up with that and making my shawls and lapghans I am really busy. But I try to read as much as possible and you are all in our prayers.

First... Chuck... I'm glad to read he was doing better. I hope he's continued to do better and better. Since you two are permanently part of my nightly prayers, I didn't miss praying for him at least. lol

Prayer cloths? What are these, nne?

I realized only today that an old friend's daughter is at NIU. I'd forgotten completely. She teaches there and takes classes... at least, the last I heard she was doing both. Now it may only be teaching. She, her friends and students were all okay. She was off campus at the time.

OMGoodness, over 2500 members?? Wow, it must keep you busy. I've one with over 700 members and they've come to bond more and more in the recent months. That means posting like some of those people on MSersLife do. Boy I sure am glad I'm not one of those rabid posters (hehe LOL).

I LOVE the prayer cloth for the Soldiers. Is this the same group who does the shawls? Prayer Shawl Ministry, was it? I know I have the link saved. How do you get involved with such things? And is it that the cloths are sent to one person who then sends them to the Soldiers, or is it each person send a bunch? Or are they sent to individual Soldiers?? Lots of questions I have.

I'm so glad Chuck is doing better. You had to be very worried about him.
