Guest guest
After reading alot of post today, (first time visiting the site) i really want to make a start on the diet. As my son (10 years)is already on the gf/cf diet he has made progress in the 3 years or so he has been on it, i feel that this will kick start it. As it is the weekend in Scotland i am looking for idears of what i can give him for like breakfast as at present he is getting Conflakes/Rice Crispies, with soya milk. my son loves veg and salad so hopefully he will adjust, unless will there be side effects to start ? Ive looked at the other site to see foods allowed and not allowed, which i understand apart from i presumed that cheese was dairy apart from soya based so can some one explain about cheddar cheese to me. Also if he is not getting his calcuim through the the soya yogurts/milk, do i have to give supplements, ie which sort. Also will this help him sleep better as nightmare at present, in previous post from myself. Thankyou Elaine
Guest guest
Hi Elaine, The chicken pancakes would make a great breakfast for those on the intro diet. http://www.pecanbread.com/recipes/flourlesschickenpancakes.html >can some one explain about cheddar cheese to me. Cheddar cheese made from goat cheese is used by some of our list members. Since you have been CF,please wait at least a month before introducing it. Start with only tiny amounts(crumbs) and carefully monitor the reaction. Wait longer to introduce goat dairy products if your child is very sensitive to dairy. I am obviously very worried about trying it. As ive been reading the gut starts to heal, so ill definately take the advice and will wait before introducing it back into his diet, tiny amounts at a time also with any othe dairy produce. ps hope the pancakes turn out ok as im not good at baking.. who know after practice. Thanks again Elaine
