Guest guest
So what's left Lynda? I have to limit fruit because of the fungus. I'm allergic to eggs and gluten and cow's milk. What do I do? What did you do? Love, PH > > > > > > > > > > Hi Patty, > > > > > > > > > > I am so utterly confused! Guest guest
PH, I think we've zeroed in on the cause of that brain fog/drunken feeling for you! Stop juicing greens! I bet you will notice a difference very shortly. It will be welcome relief, I am sure. I'm a bit stumped about the thyroid meds...you've gained weight since being on Armour? How odd. If anything it should help you lose weight as it gets your metabolism kicked up a little. I can't figure that one out at all! Do you know what's going on? PH, you may find that if you allow yourself a little leeway on the foods, you may start to experience more good days. I'm wondering. Keep up with the healthy foods, for sure, but give yourself some breathing room. I say this because of my own experience. I have a theory that some may not agree with....and it's my own theory based on my own experiences, so everyone take it with a grain of salt, okay? I have found that I can cheat ALOT on my diet and get away with it. (Not that I want to cheat on my diet anymore!) For the most part I have cut out all junk foods (no partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, etc.), but I have cheated often with sweet stuff due to, well, just trying to enjoy family celebrations. I would have had more than one coconut macaroon! My theory is that when we are in a state of autoimmunity, our immune systems can get into a state of overdrive when it comes to " attacking self. " It can get really strong and perhaps it can be " too strong " when autoimmunity is present, thus making us feel really bad. If we eat some foods that suppress the immune system (such as sugar...see Dr. Mercola's article on the dangers of sugar), it may help to keep it from being " too strong. " Does that make sense to you? I'm certainly not advocating going out on bingeing on Krispy Kreme donuts! But I do believe that moderation is the key to healing. I've been extreme and I've been lax, and I found that I felt worse when I was very extreme on eating what I thought were the right foods. I've seen some supplements that strengthen the immune system to be marked with a caution statement, " not sugggested for use by those with autoimmune disease " . I've seen that on echinachea I believe, and one other, perhaps melatonin. I'm sure the idea is that you don't want to make an out of control immune system even stronger. So, do a little experimenting if you feel this makes any sense. Try to back off of your efforts a little bit and see if you feel better. I am betting that getting rid of the greens is going to make a big difference quickly. If so, please let me know and you may also want to provide that information to Dr. Mercola's clinic, so they can better advise other women. Yes, greens are good for us, and we certainly want to keep eating salads. But in excess, greens may actually make us feel worse by making the immune system too strong, or as Dr. Kolb said, elevating our cytokines when we don't want that. Guest guest
Well, there are grains that don't have gluten. And juices that are not green. I did a basic plain diet, no dairy, no red meat, no soy (allergic), I ate lightly steamed veggies but could not do juices, and esp. could not do the algae. I ate free range turkey, chicken, deep ocean fish. I did eat brown rice, which you may not be able to do. Look for the grains that are gluten-free. I ate little fruit for several years, but I eat it now. I just pace myself. I am sure Patty can give you some really good info. on this. Lynda I drank lots of water. Pure water. Guest guest
Thanks, Lynda. Your diet sounds pretty strict. How long did you do it to that extreme? I'm hoping to get rid of these intolerances through NAET so I can expand my options! Love, PH > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Patty, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am so utterly confused! Your theory isinteresting, especially given the fact that every time I have cheatedw/ something sweet I have better vision and clarity in my head. Yet,it goes against everything on the curezone candida forum...maybethat's why they are all still struggling. I saved one guy's postwhere he went against all the advice of avoiding fruit sugar, did 80%fruit and had a complete recovery. No one believed that it could betrue but he swears by it.This is such a puzzle, but I am looking forward to easing up a bit.Rigidity in diet is stressful in itself. And yes, I definitely planto let Mercola's clinic know my experience.I think the weight gain is from fatigue. I used to exercise 3-5times a week pretty hard and I haven't done anything consistently forthe past year. The only exercise I get is walking a half block fromthe car to the kids' school! Maybe it's the DHEA and pregnenelonetoo though...and I was told I am post-menopausal so maybe it's thatas well. Regardless, 7 pounds on a petite person is like 15 on anormal person. Guest guest
PH, By the way, why have you been told you are post menopausal? Surely you are younger than I am! I am not post menopausal yet, but going through the sputters with my period. It's definitely easier to put on the weight during this hormonal " slowdown " . My Armour doses haven't helped me lose any weight, but I think they are helping me to maintain where I'm at. I could stand to lose 20 lbs right now. My New Years Resolution for sure! Interesting about the guy who gave in and ate fruit. Glad you shared that. Patty > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Patty, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am so utterly confused! Guest guest
PH, Two years, then slowly added free range beef occasionally, and a few other things. I avoided white starches and all sugars for 5 years. Occasionally now I have them, like at Christmas. I eat yams, I use olive and coconut oil, but I don't have a gluten tolerance. I still use non-gluten grains some of the time. I occasionally drink a little carrot juice and purple grape juice. I eat more things than I did back then. I took tons of supplements back then, still take quite a few, but nothing like back then. Lynda At 09:24 PM 12/27/2007, you wrote: >Thanks, Lynda. Your diet sounds pretty strict. Guest guest
Patty, It's weird, I have heard so many different stories from different docs regarding my hormones. My OB/gyn who specializes in bioidentical hormones said that my estriadol and estrone levels were that of a 70 year old woman and said I was postmenopausal. I'm only 39! She thought that explained my brittle, dry hair, fatigue and brain fog...even though I told her about the implants, the forum and Dr. Kolb. I didn't take any meds from her because my gut said not to. My periods are totally normal so I know it's probably unlikely that I'm postmenopausal. So I had my chiro look at the same blood work and she said there was no way I was postmenopausal, that the numbers were actually in the normal range because I was on my period the time the blood was drawn. Mercola's doc said not to worry about any of those numbers and to not even mess with the hormones yet (other than DHEA and pregnenelone for adrenals) because he thought they would get straightened out in time on their own with diet, detox and exercise. I'm dreading the whole menopause thing just because I see how fragile our hormones are and how they affect so many mechanisms for the rest of the body! It sounds like you know so much about it though that you will breeze on through. And if your pics are current on your myspace, you don't need to lose 20 pounds! Guest guest
Wow, Lynda. I'm impressed with your willpower. When you occasionally eat sugar now, do you experience any physical symptoms? Guest guest
No, no symptoms unless I eat it several days in a row. But I was dying, and I knew it, so I really stuck to my diet. My doctors were impressed. My naturopath was also. Had I not done the diet, I don't think I would be here today. Lynda At 09:49 PM 12/27/2007, you wrote: >Wow, Lynda. Guest guest
Thanks Patty! From: glory2glory1401 <glory2glory1401@...>Subject: Re: Chelation Date: Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 5:11 AM Hi Dr. Tan, I have tried chelation therapy. It was suggested to me by my very first naturopathic doctor, when I expressed concern about platinum as a possible problem due to the silicone shell of my saline implants. We first did a DMPS (by injection) challenge to see what my body was actually dumping. It turned out to be too high in mercury, and arsenic. To deal with those, he put me on DMSA pill. 50 mg a day for 30 days. Then we retested and everything was much, much lower, though not entirely gone. Then I began using the Thorne Research product called "Captomer" on my own, following Andy Cutler's protocol that included Alpha Lipoic Acid. I did that for several more months, and then continued detoxing by other means. I have never done EDTA chelation therapy by IV that is often discussed, as it did not specifically address the metals I was trying to deal with. But I believe it is an important therapy for those with heart disease, and I would use it if I had to. I've known other women who have done chelation therapy on this group. They will have to speak up for themselves, though many women have gone on to live normal lives and don't check in with us often anymore. But at least we have the archives! Bottom line for me....I think chelation therapy has a place in our healing, if someone tests high in toxic heavy metals. Thanks for asking!
