Guest guest
Hi Lynn.... I found this on your swelling problem.. you probably already have seen it. <a href= " http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003104.htm " > click here </a> Sometimes it takes a little longer for your body to catch up to the decrease in your Pred. Hang in there kiddo... you're on a roll now... Vicki

Guest guest
Now, Ed...don't go projecting this on yourself. Maybe you guys handle it differently. There, that's the right way to think! After all, we get brain fog, swell up, have hormonal stuff...to which you all don't seem as susceptible. So, think about it like that, ok?? Lynn --- bmcm_eod wrote: > OMG! Guest guest
Oh Lynn, I hate that your son said that. Maybe he should join our list, or he needs to attend a Dr. appt with you. Print up some articles for him and leave them for him to read. Put him on, I want to talk to him!!! used to soak through diapers when he was on his high doses of Prednisone. He couldn't make it through the night with even the super duper diapers. Had to be changed once or twice a night. Hugs, Cari > >Reply-To: OurMyositis >To: Myositis <OurMyositis > >Subject: Swelling >Date: Fri, 1 Feb 2002 19:36:54 -0800 (PST) > >You know, am I weird? Guest guest
I can understand about the diapers...gee whiz, you wonder where it all comes from!! Did the docs ever say anything about the stress on the kidneys in children? So, how does feel now that he's getting to be an " old man? " Smile. Did he get a good haul for his birthday? Thanks, Cari, for wanting to defend me. It's okay...my son is manic depressive and it's been a long haul with him. Lots of the time he's supportive (he's great in an emergency, believe me, cool and calm,) but he tends to " tell you what he thinks you want to hear. " Sometimes he works one against the other for some unknown reason, so my mom and I always compare notes. He's 24 and I think really scared...if something were to happen to me, I'm not sure how he'd get on in life. Sounds awful, I know...I've tried so many different tactics to help him become more self reliant, but nothing - so far - has worked well. He's also had open heart surgery and a few other nasty urological things...he has a badly damaged kidney, but so far, so good, no ill effects. He also has no medical insurance, but I'm working on that. Oops, sorry, I'm getting carried away! But parents with a child with an emotional illness have my prayers and blessings. Guest guest
Oh Lynn, How sad. It sounds like your family has been through a lot. It also sounds like your mom has really been there for you. It's great to have that too. Is your son on anti-depressants? Zanna
