Guest guest
Hi All, My prescription for Armour says to take twice daily. I wasn't sure if that meant during the day or if it'd be better to split it up with one at breakfast and one at bedtime. I took it at bedtime but was awake from 3 a.m. on! Just curious what time of the day you take yours. Thanks. - PH
Guest guest
Different people say different things, but the official is 1 grain = 100mcg thyroxine. Having said that it is rare for someone to take the sort of quantities thyroxine that they do of armour - I take 50mcg thyroxine & 2.75 or 3 grains armour, but have never tried 325 to 350mcg thyroxine to see how I would feel on that. Val I thought 1 grain armour was equivalent to 60mg levothyroxine. Therefore if on 200 mcg levothyroxine the equivalent dose would be approximately 3 grains armour. But I have just read the Forests Armour Thyroid website and it says 1 grain is equivalent to 100 mcg levothyroxine. Can anyone enlighten me as I decided yesterday to change over and I took 1 grain last night and 1 1/2 grains this morning and I am not sure whether to take any more this afternoon, I feel fine so far.LuvChris
Guest guest
Hi Val In reality if you were on levothyroxine to be completely symptom free the quanities you quote below are probably what you would need, remembering that they prefer to underdose.
