Guest guest
Hey Val, I have noticed a pretty crazy shift in PMS symptoms over the past few months. In the past 2 years of being on thyroid meds I noticed that alot of my symptoms got alot better...now they are back. I am noticing cramps and breast tenderness up to 12 days prior to my period. (Normal for me is 4-5 days.) In addition, I am noticing mood swings and depression. Please understand...no anxiety or depression when not PMSing. I got my period today and suddenly the world is a wonderful place again, minus the cramps. Now it is fair to say that things have been stressful and I was recently laid off of work- so lots up in the air....but I don't want to blame it on this. (I feel like doctors have been telling me my whole life everything is related to stress...when actually it was adrenal/thyroid...thank you very much medical community!) I am currently on 50mcg cytomel/ 40 HC. (I know you will say 50mcg Cytomel is low, but I am still dealing w/high pulse issues and doc won't let me go higher.) I am going for blood work next week provided my COBRA has kicked in, and am wondering if there is anything specific I should look for regarding the PMS? Is this a progesterone issue? I will slowly be weaning off the 40 HC after the bloodwork comes back as I have been on the higher dose for 5 mths. I kept it as I was going through the lay off and thought my adrenals could use the extra help. Thanks!
