Hello everyone

I just found this support group for people suffering from

complications from Saline Implants. I had my saline

implants " installed " in 2003. I just had my first child last year

in 2006. At first, I was blaming my symptoms on just " being tired " ,

but I'm getting more sleep now, and my symptoms are almost exactly

what everyone else is describing. My bloodwork is really weird. The

doctors can't figure it out. They say it looks like Lupus & /or a

connective tissue disorder, but it isn't. They tell me there is

definate inflammation going on & my body is attacking itself. I want

to know exactly WHERE the inflammation is & am trying to find a

place that can determine this. I am fatigued, my joints are achy -

especially in my knees, hands & sometimes my low back & neck. I get

yeast infections constantly, a lot of times I have " brain fog " & am

forgetful & /or can't concentrate & get have frequent respiratory

problems. Prior to the implants, I hardly ever got colds. Now I

have them off & on all the time & can't seem to ever completely get

over it. I am taking a slew of natural supplements/vitamins just to

keep myself feeling " normal " & sometimes if I'm really stressed out

& /or not eating right (such as a lot of sugar), even the supplements

don't seem to help all that much. I was referred to a

Rheumatologist who has been absolutely no help whatsoever. He took

more blood to be tested just a couple of days ago but I haven't got

the results yet. My son is 17 1/2 months old & is eating food, but

is also still nursing. He is extremely healthy (Thank God) and

hopefully will continue to stay that way. As soon as he isn't

nursing anymore, I want to be explanted ASAP and just get a lift.

It would be nice if my insurance could help with this. I have

Humana. They have told me if I can find a doctor to write an order

& " prove the correlation " they will submit the claim for review.

I know in my gut based on everything I have read here, it's gotta be

the implants. Even if it wasn't, I'm so paranoid about it now, I

just want them out. I'm not working & don't have money readily

available. Sorry for the long post, but I am totally open to anyone

who may have ideas..

Hi there,

I am glad you found us, though I am sorry about the circumstances you

find yourself in. It sounds like you've made the connection between

your implants and your health nose-dive....I'm sure it was a

startling realization, as it was for almost all of us!

Here are my recommendations.

First, you need to wean your child immediately. This is for several

reasons. Breastfeeding your child with implants places them at risk

if there is any contamination in your implants. I just posted Dr.

Pierre Blais' testimony before the FDA regarding the failures of

saline implants, and he discusses the issue of breastfeeding in that

testimony as well. You can go back to yesterday's posts and find it.

The second reason you need to wean your child immediately is so that

you can go through explant. It will take at least a month, if not 6

weeks, for your breasts to empty themselves of all the milk and for

the milk ducts to be normalized. So, even after you wean your child,

you will still have to wait 1-2 months before you can schedule the

surgery.

I know this because I was still breastfeeding my youngest son when I

went in for implant (he was 2 years old and getting ready to wean).

I was so excited to get implants at the time because I knew I would

never have to go back to those sagging, empty sacks I was left with

when my milk all dried up. But the doctor told me I would have to

wait because the risk of infection and complications would be much

higher if I had any milk in my ducts at all. I had to wait from

March until the end of May to finally go through with implant.

So, after you wean your child, you can begin looking for the right

surgeon to do your explant. You need to find someone who is going to

do an en bloc removal, or a total capsulectomy with drains. They are

few and far between, my dear, so you may have to search and go

through several consultations in your area, or you can make plans to

go to one of the few surgeons we recommend. We have found doctors

who do it right the first time, and this is so vitally important,

because some women have had to go back for a second surgery when they

found out that their chosen surgeon did not remove all the capsule.

They remained ill. So, do not take this choice of surgeon lightly.

You are going to have to make sure you are getting the whole, entire

capsule removed (a total capsulectomy) with drains.

I know you are going to have questions, so ask away.

Our best surgeons are located in regionally, so hopefully you will

have one near you. Dr. Lu Feng is in Cleveland OH, Dr.

Kolb is in Atlanta, GA, and Dr. Huang is in Denver, CO. We

have also recommended Dr. Melmed in Dallas, TX.

Hi Txmommy,

I'm in Texas right now! . . . where are you?

I started a group for the families of children injured by breast implants - 's SiliconeKids . . . The stories are beyond heartbreaking. The FDA knows of the problems, but refuses to act. There are no significant studies on the offspring of implanted women . . Despite breast implants being on the market for over 40 years.

Your baby may be very healthy now. . . I pray he continues to be. . . . But you should know that we've found that the children who are put on very healthy diets as soon as possible do much better than those whose little immune systems have to handle a bunch of environmental toxins.

I'd suggest avoiding processed, microwaved, junk or fried foods. . . Go for organic as much as possible. . . NO sugar or refined grains.

The things to watch for are rashes, welts, digestive problems, allergies, muscle joint pain, deformaties of extremeties, irritability, cognitive and behavior problems, etc. . . Problems range from minor to life threatening.

I'm thrilled to hear your baby is healthy! . . . Since you're symptomatic, it would be a good idea if you weaned him immediately. . . It's likely he's getting a daily dose of fungal organisms. . Not good!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Hi, TXMommy! I live in Ft.Worth, how about you? I have had some of the

same symptoms you described, not as severe but I was definitely nodding

my head in agreement as I read your post.

Have you read about Dr. Melmed on this site? I am scheduling a

consultation with him soon. He is in Dallas, which is really

convenient for me. I've read some very good things about him. If you

do a search on his name on this site you'll find some posts about him.

Here's a link to a page w/his bio - he doesn't have a website that I

know of.

I know this is all really scary. It's been really scary and

overwhelming for me, that's for sure. It all still seems so surreal.

I just keep reminding myself that once this is done I will be on the

road to recovery. It's so hard when there's no one around me who

really understands what I'm going through. I'm sure you can relate.

It really helps to come hear and see that there are other women facing

this and who are getting better.

Blessings,

April

I also shared the same symptoms as you described with my "safe" saline implants... I was bed ridden by the time I found this site, just a little over a year of having them toxic bags... I went to Dr. Kolb in Atlanta, www.plastikos.com for explant, there are other doctors who will take them out properly... You have to get enbloc and drains put in to get proper explant, that is so important to ever be able to regain your health... I would stop nursing the baby, there are other children who become very sick from nursing mothers with implants... I do know Dr. Kolb will fight for your insurance to pay for explant, if you are sick from them and I hear they want both breast to be in some type of pain... If only one breast hurt then they only pay for one breast, so I have heard from other, but might be different insurance... I am so glad you found this site, it saved my life... The sickness you have is real and it is from implant sickness... The Auto immune is so common in all of us, so is the yeast... Stop Sugar, yeast feeds off sugar... The main thing is to get proper explant, detox and diet, so you can regain your health back in time... Your body will have a fighting chance with the implants gone... I Welcome you to Saline Support and ask questions, there are some wonderful women on this site who will support you through this nightmare... Sorry the FDA lied to you and made you sick as well as so many others, for greed and money, they approve these deadly devices... Once again Welcome and

God Bless,
