Guest guest
Hi Lynn.... Well you asked the same question I asked the fire dept. But, apparently when you scoop up the evidence it gets mixed with everything else and it's harder or nearly impossible to put it all together again. Now, want some GOOD news???? Have I got some for you guys... Today ended up like no other day has for me. It started with me driving down to get hay at my neighbors house. I told Fred what had happened to me the other night and he was really upset. BUT, one of our NEW neighbors drove up so I decided to stay to introduce myself. Really a very nice man and Fred told him what had happened to me... Are you ready for this? Jim, my new neighbor, had the same thing happen to him and four other neighbors.... AND to make matters worse, they broke into his tack room and stole his saddles... The other neighbors got hit for rakes, shovels, new tires, and a few other things I can't remember. I mentioned to Jim I pretty much knew who it was since this kid had been doing this to me for a very long time... Jim decided to call his neighbor who soon arrived and he called the other neighbors who also arrived. Low and behold, Jim's neighbor got part of a plate number to a small white car that was sitting outside his place. He said he saw the car sitting there and first thought someone ran out of gas... then as the car drove off he walked outside and just glanced at the plate. He said he didn't think any thing of it until morning when things were missing and he had NO phone to report them. Jim asked me the name of this kid next door and HE called the police again, since they had already been out to his place and filed a report. While we were waiting for the sheriff to arrive I told my new neighbors my tale of this kid. Within an hour the Sheriff was out there with us. This was the same Sheriff that has been to my place many times before so he knew about the kid and knew what the father was like. The officer ran a check on the kids license plate and the numbers the neighbor gave him matched. That gave him enough to call another unit out mainly because they have a lot of guns in the house. I told the Officer that they have a steel shed in the back that I see the kid going in and out of during the day when the parents are gone. Also, they have a chicken coop that is no longer used yet I've seen him going in and out of it. The officer wanted to know if any of us would like to go over there if he needed us or would they like to wait at my place in case they do find items that needed identification. I invited everyone over to my place.....So, off to my wonderful next door neighbors the officers went.....followed by 5 trucks (Ya gotta know I'm loving this) Now my driveway is on the back side of there house.... If you could picture two black and whites in front of 5 pickups and I could see that all three of them were out front. We all decided to drive all the way into my place in case someone got really mad. After about 30 minutes of talking back and forth I could hear the father unlocking the steel storage unit. We could also hear him saying " Your not going to find anything in here, but have a look... He was home the whole night. " A couple of minutes later the officer dragged out a saddle... Then the officer called over to me and asked if I could get Jim to identify the saddle... OH YOU BET I CAN!!!! So all of us went over to there place....Yep, it was Jim's saddle... then they found everything else including my new pitch fork and hay hooks in the chicken coop... The other officer was talking to the kid... then the little man was read his rights and arrested and put in the back of the car! Of course the father got mad at all the neighbors, yelling he was selling his place and getting the H___ out of here... OH BOY, Just what I wanted to hear. She was crying and yelling at her husband that she couldn't take this any more.... I felt so sorry for her but you can only close your eyes for so long. I think what has to be done now is to find out if he was the only one doing this or if his buddies helped him. Also, if all the material he stole adds up to over the $1800. then it's grand thief.... and I'm sure it will since there were two saddles... that alone will equil that amount. My opinion is the father knows what the kid is doing and they sell the stuff together. In the last year they have more money than before... it doesn't make a lot of sense at all. They now own three trucks and three cars. That's a lot of auto insurance going out. Oh well, it's over with and I would love to be a mouse in that house tonight. I just hope they keep his butt in there but I doubt it... Tomorrow he'll be back home. I'll sleep good tonight....LOL Take care, Vicki
