Guest guest
Hi Devon, The only Doctor we have on our list that is in the NE states is this one: MASSACHUSETTS Dr. Jeffery Darrow P/S Boston Center Ambulatory Surgery 270 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, MA 02116 (617)267-0710 http://www.darrowcosmeticsurgery.com/about.html Some reports about this surgeon have been negative, so be sure to ask questions and use your best judgement if this is the right surgeon for you. One of our members was explanted by him, and she had great results. You can read her story in our files section...her name is Pam, and she has her original story and an update in the folder called " A Real Look at Life With Breast Implants " . However, some women have not had the same experience, but he may be a starting point for you. Otherwise, I would recommend Dr. Lu Jean Feng in Cleveland. I'm sorry you are dealing with this right now, but it is better to just end this nightmare with the implants and be done with them for good. You are on the right path, dear one! Guest guest
Patty, thank you very much! I will check out Pam's story next. I will probably need a lift as well, and never had much shape before the implants (one of the main reasons for getting them, besides extremely poor self-esteem) and am terrified that I will have shapeless bags after explantation. But you probably have all heard so many times that the " girls " are sagging downward anyway, due to the weight and gravity, and I have never felt like I could go bra-less before (due to no shape) and with them (too heavy - they need constant support) so I might as well go for " perky " , if I can get that look. I just read someone's list of symptoms (sorry I forget who - did I mention I am experiencing major brain fog?), and saw sinus infections listed. I have had so many sinus infections in these past two years, I was at one point worried that I might have nasal polyps. That particular symptom for the moment seems to be subdued, but my vision, bumping into walls and being pretty emotional most of the time are right on top currently. I am in peri-menopause, so the emotional roller-coaster is to be expected I guess. I often find myself feeling angry or very sad, then trying to find something going on to explain it. When I find myself doing that, I KNOW it's the hormones! I wish I could have been a lot less eager to be booby and a lot more interested in doing my homework - I could have saved myself a world of grief and a lot of money. Guest guest
Devon, We've all felt that at one point or another in this implant journey...I've never had a bigger regret in my life than getting breast implants. I had saggy breasts, but the lift was just what I needed. They are perky now and we're all happy! (Me, my husband and my breasts.) Sinus infections are common amongst implant women. Once you get them out and start an anti-fungal detoxing routine, you will hopefully be done with them, but you can never get too complacent. It is going to become a lifelong lifestyle change for you, and you will have to revisit your detoxing protocols seasonally. With a changed immune system, we are always going to be more vulnerable now, and we have to stay one step ahead of the pathogens which will be just lurking to get a foothold when we are too lax. Let us know when you get your explant scheduled! Make SURE you ask about a total capsulectomy or an en bloc removal. Dr. Darrow knows what this is and hopefully he still knows how important it is. If he gives you a difficult time, don't be afraid to either push for what you want and insist on a proper removal, or move on to someone who will do your bidding. It's your body, your money, and your health. They've got nothing to lose, you've got everything. Be a pleasant patient, but be in control. Guest guest
I will let you all know when I'm scheduled - I went onto Dr. Darrow's website and got an immediate " yech " for an inner reaction - I'm going to go with my gut and stick with Dr.Feng, IF I can afford the whole thing, travel and all. I am a confirmed sugar-addict, so am not looking forward to this Detox thing very much at all. I can go for a couple of weeks fasting, eating super-healthy, etc., then BAM, back into the goodies big-time. My beloved husband is also a sugar-holic. This may turn out to be the biggest challenge of this whole explantation, besides the cost! I'll keep the group posted, as it may be of use to someone in a similar situation to mine, okay? Thanks again! > > > > > > > > Hi Everyone, > > > > I am new to this group and am trying to find my way around > this > > > > site. Guest guest
Hi Devon, Welcome, If you'll aggressively fight your fungal issues, you should find your sugar cravings significantly reduced. . . Caprylic Acid, can give you a huge jump start . . . start slowly . . .work your way up to 3600 mg. daily for 16 days. . . . Add probiotics - I recommend Garden of Life's Ultra Primal Defense) . . . start slow . . . work up to eight caps a day and hold until your spit test is good for at least a month . . then continue on a reduced level indefinitely. The ladies can fill you in on some of the other ways to boost the level of beneficial organisms in your body. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Devon, You may be able to put an end to your sinus problems by swabbing the inside of your nose (as far up as you can) with an antifungal ointment like Lamisil. . . the jock itch stuff. Works wonders on sinus problems. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Be careful with Dr. Darrow, my group no longer recommends him as he has treated some women badly and refused to take out the entire scar capsule. Guest guest
Wise choice, Devon. Must kick the sugar. It is the fungus you are feeding that will keep you ill when you eat sugar. Guest guest
Devon, I was very sick from my saline implants as well, I shared all the same symptoms you mentioned in your first post, as well as chronic fatigue, burning joints and feet, yeast, flu like symptoms, low grade fever, dizzy, blurred vision, IBS, rash, vertigo, bouncing into walls for now reason, memory loss and brain fog, to mention some of my 34 symptoms in total... I am so glad you found Saline Support, this group has saved my life... I have heard great stories about Dr. Feng on this site from women who used her for explant... I used Dr. Kolb, www.plastikos.com there are 4 skilled doctors we highly recommend... I would stick with one of those to make sure you get proper explant... I have heard of some PS saying they will do this or that, then upon waking up from explant, they will say, Oh you didn't need this or that... You need en-block, which means implants removed whole, total capsule removed and drains put in to removed toxins... You won't regret explant, it is the first step to regaining your health back... Don't look back and get those toxic bombs removed, detox and proper diet, you will get better in time... Once Again Welcome to Saline Support... Ask questions and you will find this group so helpful and your new Family... This site is so supportive, they truly understand what you are going through, we all have been there at one point or another in our life... I am so sorry our FDA made you sick, approving a product which they say is so "safe" yet makes so many of us so sick... I understand the feeling, as I say, been there done that... However with proper explant there is a chance to regain your health and move on with daily life... Hang in there... God Bless, ~See AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter. Guest guest
Where is the fungus? It often feels like it's stuffed up my nose it feels so hard up there when I get ill, but seriously, is it throughout my system? I had read recently in a book I got off ebay about fungus, but couldn't hack the very severe diet suggested then after trying it for just a few days. I'm 52 years old, and I've been trying to kick the sugar habit since I was 18, with full-blown acne. Oh, this will be " fun " ... Yeah, about that Dr. Darrow - when I saw his picture, I just had this reaction of what - maybe arrogance on his part? It wasn't a positive feeling, whatever I could label it! I will take some of the Caprylic (sp?) acid tonight - would you believe I went to the Health Food store and bought a good quality one when I got the Detox book. Then I stopped taking it - I figured I wasn't able to stay on the diet, I would just be wasting the supplement/s I had bought. Thanks everyone for your input. This is way helpful already! > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Everyone, > > > > > > I am new to this group and am trying to find my way around > > > this > > > > > > site. Guest guest
Devon, Some examples of readily identified fungus . . . dandruf, athletics foot, thrush. . . . Actually it can be anywhere in your body! . . . The Mayo clinic says 70+% of sinus infections are actually fungal! . . . I have a fungal problem with one ear. The fungus that we (implant) women seem to have so much trouble with is in the digestive tract . . . Fungus feeds on sugar, so when we have a problem, our body is screaming for sugar. I know it sounds impossible right now, but you'll soon find that you can pass on the sweets - and that, eventually, sweets will taste disgustingly sweet to you. . . That takes time. So don't beat yourself up if you slip. There are a number of diets to help deal with these issues. . . It would be extremely stressful to start it cold. If you'll start by finding healthy foods you truly enjoy, you can gradually expand your menu until the unhealthy foods are squeezed out. If your stomach feels strange with Caprylic acid, that's normal . . . Just start slow and be persistant. You'll eventually be able to work up to 3600 mg. a day for 16 days. By then, your fungal issues should be well under control and you'll need to replace the beneficial organisms (probiotics) that keep our bodies running right. You should find that it gets easier with time . . . If you'll think about all the foods you CAN eat, and experiment with herbs and spices, you'll soon find your new menus is much tastier than the old. It takes some planning to cook from scratch . . . but once you get the hang of it, you'll be delighted with the results AND at how much better you feel. Guest guest
Thank you, Rogene and ! I've just finished reading the 48 reasons why not to get a boob job - wish I had read that a few years ago! I finally found the papers for the cosmetic surgery loan I took out for this, and in July, it will be 4 years, not 3 like I had thought previously. Thanks for the info on fungus and support, I always have (hope this doesn't gross you out, but here goes) a yeasty-smelling discharge and don't feel clean unless I shower in the am, and do a body wash in the pm (or a short shower). It's not unpleasant, but now I'm realizing that it's probably fungus, am I correct in this? I did a fair amount of baking for the holiday, and even made two kinds of fudge, and of course have eaten quantities of all, so my skin is breaking out all over. I just started to read the detox stuff and a lot of it is familiar to me, from books I already have on hand. Now the trick is to get back up on that horse and go for the ride without beating myself up too badly if I stumble. , Dr. Feng is probably the closest p.s. to me, and like you, I keep reading about her compassionate manner. My husband comes from the upstate NY area, so he has some memories of travelling around the Ohio area with his family when he was younger. I can't seem to locate my papers from the implant procedure. I think, (since the p.s. told me that they would last forever), that I ditched them when I finally left the husband who contributed my lack of self-esteem to the point where I thought I really wasn't attractive to men! So now I don't even know what I have in there, except that they are saline. Geesh. Have any of you ever contacted your former p.surgeons to get that info? Do they keep it on file? Oh, and constipation is a symptom? Let me tell you, I am miss oatbran, prunes, you name it - I have snuck it into our food, worrying about my husband's constipation. I just thought the last few years of not having a daily bm were from the stress in my life. So far, I can identify with these symptoms: 1) Drastic vision loss (I had lasik surgery done several years ago, and just thought at first that it was my eyes being strained from computer work, but it's to the point where I can no longer drive without my glasses - yes, I got glasses again). 2)Muscle pain, stiffness, especially in my 3)cold hands! 4)headaches, 5)Sinus infections and constant sinus dripping first thing in the am 6)Vaginal discharge? Not sure if related... 7)Hair loss-thought it was related to stress, but am not stressed right now, and am still losing it at a greater rate than I would think normal 8)Rashes - some act like acne, some look like warts - I really freaked out the other day when I got a rash " down there " ! I was fanatical about keeping myself clean and it seems to be mostly gone, but what the heck? 9)I was going to say that's it so far, but then I forgot (no surprise there) to add BRAIN FOG! Well, gotta go start my day of work. I feel so very, very blessed to be able to be starting to work from home right now, but I am trying to stay on track and pull my weight here. I am soooo tempted to read more on the detox thing, but will save that as a treat to myself tonight, as well as reading what everyone else is doing. Blessings to all of you, most of you have had, or are having a much more challenging journey through all of this than me, and I am in total respect of all of you! Guest guest
Devon, You sound like you're putting the pieces together very fast . . . Knowledge is power, so learn everything you can about what's going on and about detoxing. We can't tell you exactly what will, or will not, work for you - but you'll soon learn that you have an instinct for what you need and how to do it. The trick is making the committment and sticking to it until you're over the hump. Then it becomes much easier. . . Eventually it will be come a way of life. In the long run, you will likely live healthier (along with your family) that others around you. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Devon, I had all the symptoms you mentioned plus lots of others.. The falling out hair, I was given 30mg of Armour thyroid and that stopped... You could have your iron checked as well for that issue... The yeast is a real problem with implants, I had it so badly, just as you described in your post... The smell, if armpits, is infection, you can smell the infection... I had to use deodorant then was by noon and more deodorant, it was puzzling, then explant, Dr. Kolb said, You can smell the infection, she was right when she took out my implants, I had infection...I would get your thyroid tested ASAP....even if your test says ok, still try to get armour 30mg for hair to stop falling out.. I got mine from Dr. Kolb, it worked... I hear you can order off internet from over sea's? You are not crazy and you are having blurred vision, most of us do from implants... Dry eyes, and mouth... Sometimes it feels as though someone pulled your hair out.. bouncing off walls and the list is endless? The rash usually gets worse after a shower, I think from the chlorine in the water, since we become highly allergic to chemicals from our systemic illnesses from implant sickness... Hang in there and get those implants removed, detox and get your health back... I am glad you are on this site and taking charge with your health.. Write back ~See AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter.
Guest guest
, Thanks so much for your help! I will research the Armour and try it. I am losing my health insurance slowly (my husband is carring both of us on a policy, but they don't cover much, and it seems every year the cost goes up and the coverage goes down). I feel like we are back in olden days where everyone had to be proactive for their own health, and maybe that's not such a bad thing, considering we have the Internet to help us make informed decisions. I'm not advocating here that everything on the Internet is helpful; it's not , and a lot of people acting like experts are evil and downright vicious. But it's my own personal belief that God created the Internet, just like everything else, only through people, and will guide me if I ask for help. This little community of women is so loving! I have been learning to use the Text Edit tablet of my little Mac Mini computer, and have several pages, now, of edit/copy/paste of all the helpful things I've been reading off the posts just in the past two days. I've been reading, now, for over 2 hours, and I'm not done yet! I am taking a day off for ME, and reading what you and everyone else is doing is invaluable. A quick not to update everyone: I called Dr. Feng's office yesterday, and then called my old p.s's office and asked for them to send me the release form for my records so I can see and show Dr.Feng just what I've got in my chest. Another member of Dr. Feng's staff, , will be calling me back next week to go over pricing (please God), etc., as she is out this week. So, I'm opening the door!!! I am trying to scale back my unhealthy eating, and yesterday, had a good day. I helped someone else, had some exercise, and that felt good. I am so grateful I found this site before I went much longer. I am also glad I listened to that " still, small voice " . Hugs to you, Devon > > Devon, > > I had all the symptoms you mentioned plus lots of others.. The falling out > hair, I was given 30mg of Armour thyroid and that stopped... Guest guest
Dr. Feng's patients look so good after explant!! I've seen photos of them on explantation.comI always figured if I did implant, I'd explant with her, since I'm in Michigan. Re: New member with a question, thanks! , Thanks so much for your help! Guest guest
I am in Michigan also. My hubby and I traveled to Ohio to be explanted by Dr. Feng. I just loved her. She did awesone. My boobs look just like they did before implantation, except for the scars in the crease, even those are not very prominant. Guest guest
Hi , Sorry I'm late in saying hi to you and the other newer newbies. I'm pretty new here, myself. Just wanted to ask you if you got a lift or " just " an explant? If your boobs look just like they did before, and you think they look awesome, doesn't it make you wonder what sort of brainwashing we get to not make us think they look awesome BEFORE we get the implants? It's sad. But you got rid of them, hooray for you, and I'd love to know more about your explant, as I'm waiting for a call next week to get pricing info and particulars from Dr. Feng's office. We will probably be driving down, and we're in Vermont, almost Canada, but she is much closer than Dr. Melmed or Dr.Kolb. Thanks! Guest guest
Devon, Yes follow your Gut, I was forced to do so from God, once I was bed ridden and begging for answers, from him... He sent me to this site and I believe that with all my heart... These women are great and been there and done that... You will not be disappointed using Dr. Feng, I hear she is wonderful... Don't look back and get your implants out, and regain your health... Thank God you are here with us and believing our stories... God Bless, ~See AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter.
