Some of us originally thought to have Fibromyalgia, have turned out to have painful form of Peripheral Neuropathy involving the sensory nerves. This is not determined using EMG and Nerve Conduction studies, but for true diagnosis requires a small punch biopsy, which can be performed locally and read at s Hopkins. s Hopkins can send the doctor a kit and it take about 5 minutes to instruct in the technique over the phone. It is a very easy biopsy to do and is not a big deal...
