Guest guest
Clear DayHello, Everyone on this listserver is somehow related to EMS. This is an occupation that we all chose to do for different reasons. This next year will be my fourteenth year certified by TDH currently as a medic. Most of us do not have the opportunity to be off on most holidays as most normal occupations do. The public often takes us for granted. When was the last time that you received a sincere thank you from anyone in whom you made a difference? Was it from your corporate office thanking you for your years of dedicated service? Was it from a patient who wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the EMS systems? The reason for this post is as follows. It's quite simple and to the point. After a scheduled transfer out of our service area yesterday my partner and I made a brief stop at a gas station to get something to drink. I was approached by a gentleman who just wanted to let me know how much he appreciates what we do. He went on to explain that he wouldn't be here this Christmas if it wasn't for the highly trained Paramedics who saved his life...cpr save.. He stated that he knows that most people take what we do for granted and he just wanted to thank us all for the lives that we affect everyday. This man actually had tears as he was explaining this to me. I am passing this on to everyone as the most sincerest thank you that I have ever received. This thanks is for you...whether your the field provider, the management or the instructors who have made this all possible. Merry Christmas, Auanger, CCEMT-P Hunt County EMS
