Guest guest Posted February 10, 2009 Report Share Posted February 10, 2009 Job Vacancy National HIV Social Science Research Project Introduction to the Project The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and Action Aid India (AAI) HIV Social Science Research Project is an initiative intend to identify the priority research needs of National AIDS Control Program (NACP) and to implement selected priority research projects. This project would review of the state of HIV social research to identifying gaps and research needs of HIV response in India, host a national consultation to identify and prioritize the social research agenda, develop a Network of HIV social researchers, publish regular HIV Social research briefs, provide support for junior researchers, commission priority research, bring out publications and updated bibliography. This project also envisages mechanisms for developing a knowledge depository, policy advocacy and dissemination of the research findings. The project will be implemented in collaboration with NACO, UNAIDS and various other agencies. A. Job Vacancy (1): Research Consultant/ Research Fellow Overall Job description. Advise and assist the National HIV Social Science Research Core Team on research methods, analysing the data, project management and organizing a national consultation. Task Description Arrange interviews with people who can provide information about HIV social research needs in India Check reference materials such as books, news files, and public records in order to obtain relevant facts. Conduct interviews, develop a database on HIV social research in India. Researchers and the research themes Research and analyse background information related to HIV social research priorities Organize a national consultation on HIV social research priorities Write commentaries, or reviews that interpret HIV/AIDS related social research issues or offer opinions.
