Guest guest
Good Morning Everyone.... Hi Jacqui.... Well your's was the first post I read this morning and it such did start my day off with a chuckle. Pred, as a high dose, did the same things to me. But, I wouldn't be here without it. My desire for CHEESE and MEAT was intense. I couldn't get enough of either one. Salads with a lot of tomatoes also caught my eye.... I've also been a pasta and bread eater... I'd never give either one of those up... maybe cut down but not give up! Since your allergic to bee stings did you get a bee sting kit for your home? My little dog was also allergic and the vet gave me a kit to use on her right away. As it turned out it was the same kit used for humans... My CPK only got to 12,000 when I entered the hospital but they told me that all my internal organs were swollen twice there normal size. My heart was really pumping hard and they said they had to act fast to get the swelling down. It's amazing how quick Prednisone starts to work... Have you tried using something like Prilosec or Prevacid for your stomach? I used Prilosec and it does work great. Now that I'm on a lower dose of Pred., 5mgs, I can use over the counter stuff but I still use Equate Liquid Antacid, Wal-mart brand, every once in a while. Works fast and is good at stopping the burn. Many years ago people that got PM/DM just had to grin an bare it (suffer)... then they died from it. The use of Prednisone changed all that.... and now we have other drugs on the market to help us. Can you imagine what people did and how they lived many years ago when they got PM/DM? I often wonder how long they lived without the use of Prednisone. Well Jacqui, thanks for the early morning chuckle... thought you were writing about me.... lol Take care, Vicki
