Guest guest
Last night my son and I went to an indoor amusement park. It was loud, crowded, and full of big rides. Normally, this alone would cause Ben to immediately want to head for home. Not only did he ride all of the kid rides plus some of the adult rides (Ferris wheel, rollercoaster, scrambler) but we ended up staying until it closed at 11:00 pm. This from a kid who last year would barely ride the kiddie rides at our local fair. He is so much more able to enjoy that kind of stuff now. It was really amazing. He also threw darts and popped a balloon to win a cheap little toy Nemo. It cost me $5 for that stupid toy, but the look on his face when he won was priceless!! We do other therapies, but I have to say that SCD has been a tremendous help with his sensory issues. (Of course we took all our scd goodies to the fair with us. Ben never once asked for cotton candy, funnel cake or any of that crud!) steph o. mom to Ben pdd/adhd scd 18 months
