Guest guest
I have really noticed a difference in how I feel after not drinking soda since March. I do notice that when I go out and eat I want a soda (that was the only place I ever drank soda), and I have even broke down and drank a 7up and WOW, then I almost start craving it, I am thinking it must be the bubbles or something that makes me really want it. So I have been staying clear of soda. And even since I have cut out caffinee I am feeling better, less tired..LOL...and I was drinking the caffinee to perk me up! Glad you had a good time and no guilt feelings or feelings of being bloated after your wonderful dinner. Guest guest
I used to think that since I always drank Pepsi that it was the caffeine that I craved but I switched from pepsi to A & W Rootbeer and also 7-Up and it made no difference. It IS the bursting and tingle of the bubbles that I want. However, I am limiting myself to only one soda per week. Last night was supposed to be the night for it but it was late before I thought about it so I guess I'm going to have to wait until next Friday. Who knows.......maybe I'll end up giving all my sodas away. Guest guest
I always drank diet soda even before WW. I have continued to drink 3 or 4 a week in the 13 months I have been on WW. I also have at leat 2-3 cups of coffee everyday. I have lost over 90 lbs in that time so at least for me if doesn't look like caffiene has affected my weight loss. I made the decision early on that I simply wasn't going to give up something that had no calories and was something I enjoyed. I drink it every day and am none the worse for wear. It's probably like a lot of things. Some people can do fine with it, others have issues. I know I can't do milk or cheese due to lactose intolerance so I avoid that and feel TONS better now that I don't indulge (although I can do tiny amounts of ff stuff, or very lf stuff occassionaly). Maybe for others it's a reaction to the artificial sweetener. We're lucky that we don't have problems with it.
Guest guest
You know Charlie, I always liked diet soda too (and I drank it before WW). Now, I'm not saying you should give it up ... different things work for different people ... but for me, it was one thing I never thought I'd give up as well. As I started drinking lots of water, I just didn't have room for the soda (one could only get down so much liquid) ... at some point, I just lost my taste for it ... to the point now where I'd rather have the water.... Guest guest
I'm with you on that one Charlie!! While I have considerably cut back on coffee (I drink half-caf... mix half and half regular and decaf) and probably drink about 3 or 4 diet cokes w/caffeine per week and 1-2 diet cokes without caffeine per day. For me, the whole idea behind WW is that you DON'T have to deny yourself anything. If you're the kind of person who says " I will never ever drink a diet coke again " and you're happy doing that, then more power to ya. But I for one won't ever ever tell myself I won't ever have ANYTHING again! No matter what it is. That's just not for me. I haven't even given up my wine, beer, or specialty liquors I have every once in awhile! lol Beth " Charlie.. " <ces1948@y...> wrote: > I always drank diet soda even before WW. Guest guest
I think you hit the nail on the head. It's all about making personal choices. If you can have a few of the things you like here and there and stay OP, then do it! It's a lifestyle change, so do what will still be working years from now. If you can't just have a little of it here and there and are more comfortable removing it from your diet, then do that. The plan works different for everyone, so adapt it to your lifestyle. I tend to overdrink caffeinate diet colas, so now I've learned to limit myself to one diet pepsi every morning and that's it. But I cut them out for 3 weeks to break the habit first, knowing my weakness for sodas. Some people need to entirely cut them out because they can't just limit the intake. That's why I love WW. It can easily be customized to the individual! In Him, Jon Prayer is not overcoming God's reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness. — Luther Please note: message attached
