Guest guest
Vicki, I had joined that Yahoo Group last month and after reading some of the original messages Laurel Colton posted I questioned her about what the Kili Climb was actually for. I expressed my concern that she thought her mother who has IBM is mentioned as having Muscular Dystrophy. All the original posting also said the climb was for Muscular Dystrophy. She wrote back and assured that the MAA is the group they are climbing for with the money going to Dr's Askanas & Engel. I think it's worth posing a few questions to Laurel about because she assured me that she'd fix the Yahoo Group and she obviously did not by leaving the Muscular Dystrophy as where she's listed. I'm even concerned about the money going to Askanas & Engel as from what I understood they are focused on IBM research. Regards, BillG Camarillo, CA > > > Bill, got a question for you... Guest guest
Bill, Myositis's is one of the 40 diseases that the Muscular Dystrophy Association represents. Although, the majority of their research money goes into the more " popular " diseases. Duchenne's MD, Becker's MD, Lou Gerig's disease, etc... From what I understand of the posts I read on Laurel's Yahoo site, Dr's Askansa and Engel are leading researchers for all of the myositis diseases.
