Guest guest
I wanted to post some observations of doctors & medicine, based solely on experiences and conversations I had today: 1. My friend with the implants went for an ultrasound on her ovarian cyst today and was HOPING they'd find something wrong- even if it were cancer- so that she could finally have an explanation for all of her unexplained, undiagnosed health problems. She's sick of going in for tests and everything coming back " normal " - so sick of it that she says she's hoping for any kind of diagnosis with this ovarian cyst in the hopes that curing it will cure her other symptoms. SAD. 2. I have another friend, without implants, who went in for an ultrasound on her breast today. She is assuming they will shuffle her through to an unnecessary invasive surgical procedure (biopsy) to tell her that it's nothing. She assumes this since she's already been though this before a couple of times with her breasts. She has come to expect and accept unnecessary surgery to find out nothing is wrong. (when she was feeling fine in the first place- just went in for routine mammogram) 3. I went to an ear, nose, throat doctor today to find the root cause and cure for the ear pain that I've had for SEVENTEEN YEARS. It's gotten worse lately in that it feels like a spider is crawling in it. I can't sleep on this ear because the pain is unbearable. I can't ride a bike because the pressure makes it feel like my head is going to explode. With symptoms like these, and 17 years of history to the pain, I'd assumed the doctor would be able to diagnose me at first sight, from all the way across the room! Nope. Guess what? All tests came out normal. He even said my hearing is normal (which my husband will vehemently disagree with!!!). I asked if it's normal to not be able to sleep on one of your ears, and that the entire outer part of the ear is too painful to touch when this happens. He said it is not normal, but he can't find anything wrong. On a long shot, he prescribed Allegra (allergy medicine) even though he said my symptoms don't align with ear pain caused by allergies. He said he would have given me a brain MRI, but I just had one a couple of years ago for facial paralysis, and I told him they saw nothing wrong. He said there was no use in doing that again, then. I was stunned when I walked out of there. 17 years of pain and a doctor can't find anything wrong? What CAN doctors diagnose or cure? Guest guest
And this is why I can't stand them. I mean, how long did they go to school? They paid for it didn't they? My naturopath saw people who said they had been diagnosed with cancer. She tested them, but using a muscle response monitor. When they didn't test for herbs generally used for cancer patients she would tell them " I recommend you getting a second opinion because I don't think you have cancer. " And guess what?......She was right. Then she had people who did have cancer come in she would work with them for months with the muscle response monitor. They would test for differnet herbs and she would put different programs together for them. Eventually they would stop testing for herbs used for cancer treatment and she would tell them. " I think you need to go to the Dr and get some tests. " And guess what?????......Yep no cancer. So that goes to show they don't always know what the hell is going on. They're worse can a car mechanic. You come in with a flat tire, you leave, get a mile down the raod and your whole damn transmission falls out. They are crooks I tell ya. And I'll bet you anything not a one of them takes the stupid medications that they perscribe. I bet they do all their groc shopping at the health food store and they all have their own Naturopathic Dr " on call " . Makes me so mad. I'm going through the same thing with my gyno. Seventeen years is a looooooooooong time to deal with an ear problem. Up until I was 20 I was still getting ear infections. There is nothing worse. I hope some way some how you can get it figured out. So it just hurts on the outside you said and it just feels like there is something crawling inside or does it actually hurt inside too? > > I wanted to post some observations of doctors & medicine, based solely > on experiences and conversations I had today: > > 1. Guest guest
My left ear most commonly hurts on the inside (it's doing it right now). Also, it sometimes hurts on the outside (also doing that right now). They don't always happen at the same time like this. If I press my ear against my head, the whole outside part of it hurts. Even if I don't press on it, it hurts, but it hurts worse if I press on it. When it's like this, I can't sleep on it- it's just impossible pain. But the thing that finally made me go to this guy to get it figured out once and for all is my latest problem with it, which just started a month ago. When the ear isn't hurting, and I lie down on it, it feels like a spider is crawling in it. It moves around, then it settles for a few seconds, then it does it again. I didn't seriously think it was a spider, even though it feels just like one, until my coworker told me today that it's really happened to people. I looked it up on the Internet, and sure enough, there are news stories about people having spiderwebs & spiders in their ears because apparently the ear provides the ideal temperature for a spider! So I immediately called and set the appointment. He found no spider, but he also found no problem. I know there's a problem. My left ear is about to explode right now. I think it's because I just did a ton of turns in ballet tonight. I told the guy that bike riding is unbearable and turning is excruciating if I do too many. He just shrugged like he'd never heard of that before. I can't decide if I'm going to try the allergy medicine that he prescribed or not. Guest guest
Hmmmm...don't mean to scare you but I have heard of numerous insects crawling in people's ears. And I guess it's the same feeling. Crawling sensations and severe pain. I heard one story of a roach that crawled into someones ear and laid eggs. That might be total bollocks as my boyfriend would say, but it seems like not to long ago I saw a similar story actually ON TV. But it seems like if a bug had been in your ear for 17 years it would be dead by now right? Ok so the only thing I could suggest, you know because I'm not a dr would be 1, my naturopath suggested one time that for my ear infectons I put garlic oil directly in my ear and let it set for a few seconds before raising up. Put a small piece of cotton in amd do the other ear. Garlic oil gets rid of infection. You can buy the capsules and then go to pharmacy and get a syringe. You can puncture the capsule and suck the oil out and it makes it easier to drop directly into ear. Of course you will need someone to do that part for you otherwise it could end up ugly. Trust me, it got rid of several ear infectons for me without having to take antibiotics. Don;t know if that could help but i imagine even if you have inflammation it may help with that too. 2, have you ever heard of ear candling? Some people freak out but it's actually a very relaxing process. A long tube made of wax with a paper plate at the end (close to your head) is inserted just inside the ear. The tube is then lit with a match or lighter on the other end. When lit the tube creates a suction that gets out wax and all kinds of other debri. As the tube burns it falls off on the paper plate so not to burn your face and then is extinguished with a wet paper towel when it burns low. When you cut open the tube you will be amazed at what comes out. and the only other suggestion I can think of right now, is aromatherapy. I worked with alot of essential oils in my years as a massge therapist. My natropath turned me on to it actually with the raindrop therapy. And since I have used Young Living essential oils. Here is the site. https://www.youngliving.org/Supplements You can go to product line and then essential oils and it will list the singles and the blends. I do know that the blends Purification, Melrose, and ImmuPower are good for infection. You can put these oils on the inside of the ear well, down and around ear on the outside, and under chin. Don't ever put an essential oil directly down the ear canal. Apply 1-2 drops aroound the inside and out and/or on the mastoid bone directly behind the ear. Eucalyptus oil is good for inflammation. You can put a couple drops in your hand and then soak with tiny piece of cotton and then put inside the ear. Theoils on this site are kinda pricey but if you become a memember they're not quite as much. Sometimes it's worth it because the oils can ALWAYS be used for something else. Eucalypyus oil can be placed on the chest to open up respritory system during a cold. Immupower can be applied to the feet to strengthen the immune system and is good to rid the body of candida, which all of us on this site could use. The best way to get benefits from oils is to inhale them the second best way is to be applied to the feet because our pores are large there and can be easily absorbed. Ummm, Purification can be diffused in the home to get rid of odors, bacteria and all kinds of things in the air. It gets rid of ants, and can you believe you can drop it on a tick wether it be on your dog or child, and in seconds the tick will release it self and be removed without having to rip out any skin. And Melrose, can be applied to cuts, bruises and insect bites, but is most effective for tissue regeneration from damage or injury, burns, cold sores and also candida. So if you invest in one oil you can use it for many things. I learned that some oils cannot be applied " neat " they should be diluted with what is called a carrier oil, which could be almond oil for example. And if you ever get on oil in your eye, DO NOT wash with water. Water activates essential oils. You can apply an oil for pain and then apply a hot wet compress. The heat opens the pores of the skin and the moisture drives the oils in. Always wash an oil out of your eyes with milk. I have never done it personally but I always try and tell people in case. I don't know if any of this will help but I feel like the least I can do is give a suggestion because i believe that god has put on this earth what we need to help heal ourselves it's up to us to get educated and actually put these things to use. I hope you can get this problem resolved. > > My left ear most commonly hurts on the inside (it's doing it right > now). Also, it sometimes hurts on the outside (also doing that right > now). Guest guest
Thank you! This is way more suggestions than the doctor had! If I were to try all of it, and if it worked, how long do you think it would take for the pain to go away or at least improve? The crawly feeling has only been one month- the pain has been 17 years. I hope I do not have something living in my head. Yuck. Re: Doctors & Medicine in General Hmmmm...don' t mean to scare you but I have heard of numerous insects crawling in people's ears. Guest guest
Ballerina . . . I've had problem with one ear for a long time . . . I'm always looking for something to fix it . . . I don't know if any of them would work for you . . .but here's some things to try. Hydrogen peroxide (3%) . . . pour in ear and leave it as long as you hear it "boiling" Hall's ear drops - combination of oils like oil of oregano, garlic, etc. Castor Oil (This seems to be as, if not more effective than anything else, especially when a heating pad is used too) Antifungal cream . . . jock itch kind. Steroid ear drops Antibiotic ear drops Eating raw, crushed garlic Taking probiotics Something you want to avoid is allowing water to get in your ears . .. If it does, dry them carefully. A couple drops of alcohol is recommened after swimming . . . I've never used alcohol. What triggers my ear problem is eating sugar. Eat now, pay in 24 hours! Guest guest
Wow , You fit right in here with all your knowledge of oils, massage, etc. Very interesting! . . . I understand next to nothing about essential oils! One of our silent sisters has horrible health problems. . . Her doctors won't touch her for explant. However, she manages to keep going by using essential oils. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Ballerina, Does it hurt, more or less, in a line from below your ear and jawbone down your neck? I'm thinking of the Eustachian tube. Also . . . I'd see another doctor . . . this guy is a loser! . . . ly, I haven't found a good ear doctor yet either . . . and I've seen many! I keep thinking I should try again. I started Mycoplex and Puricell today in the hope that I might get some long term relief. Guest guest
Yeah we don;t need any bug infestations. I think we got enough probs already. i wouldn't know what to say as far as how long it would take. I would think days to see small improvement and weeks to see more. I know with ear infections the garlic oil worked within a day. I was amazed and it's a good healthy alternative for children too. I really hope something I have suggested helps you. I can't imagine living with that and having no one to figure out what it is. So aggravating. But with pain that long I can'e believe there is no hearing damage. Or is there? Something is def wrong here. Ballerina Breastaug <ballerinabreastaug@...> wrote: Thank you! This is way more suggestions than the doctor had! Actually if you have a tape worm, it comes apart in segments that look like tiny little rectangles. If it is a monster worm, I am not sure how it looks.....I have seen them. I worked in pediatrics for 6 1/2 yrs. You are a funny girl ! You make me laugh, and that is my best medicine ! Hugs DedeSee AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter. Guest guest
Patty ~ Yes, I can imagine it........nasty nasty, nasty ! My germafobe years started when I was working in pediatrics. We had 6 doctors and a lab in our office. I saw lots and lots of things......Then I also read all the medical books I could get my hands on. All the docs kept their books on bookshelves in their offices. That is what I did on breaks and at lunch many times, read their books...... Guest guest
B ~ If they( doctors ) dont learn it out of the books the drug companies publish, then they dont learn anything past medical school. Everything they learned in medical school is already a thing of the past. This holds true with many many doctors..........
