Guest guest
Thanks, Nancie. What would you recommend to help the adrenals? Even though I take armour I don't think it is the only or best thyroid drug to take. Betty Re: thyroid test results > Yes, > >> Are you guys also members of NaturalThyroidHormones group? Guest guest
Well, you can either take low dose bio-identical steroids that many on this board do take; or you can treat through acupuncture or herbs. I treat mine with acupuncture and herbs. The herbal blend I take is called " phyto-ADR and it is all vegetarian and specifically for the adrenals. I refuse to take steroids- long story. All medications list outcomes due to inappropriate dosing as " side effects. " That doesn't mean that any kind of study showed that your risk of these effects will go up, since most people will be titrated to an appropriate dose. Guest guest
Thanks, Nancie, that is very helpful. Are you adrenals healed now? What herbs do you take? Any particular kind of accupuncture you use? Or is it all the same? You told us the dose you were on, and it was nowhere near the equivalence of the Armour you take now. I seem to remember it was about half. So, how is that a fair comparison? Guest guest
You can get hair loss on armour too. When my Doc lowered my meds to one point I starting losing my hair. It has just now slowed down since he has been raising it back up. Guest guest
I take the " phyto-ADR mixture. And no my adrenals are not healed yet. But, I have a complicated medical history. I have both sle and fibromyalgia and a 15 year of chemo that included a 10 year history of high dose gluccorticoid steroids, decadron that I got every month for 10 years straight. The acupuncture that I take is Chinese. There is also Japanese acupuncture. They both have different styles. But they all achieve the same purpose or goal. My acupuncturist is a Chinese physician and dentist. Starrie is also my dentist. She is excellent.
