Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, Glad to hear they have a handle on Don's condition and hopefully no heart damage. I have been real worried about the blood clot possibility especially since the death in Iraq. Maybe all of us who can't move much should be on blood thinners. Our prayers are with you. Guest guest
Bonnie, That is great news. Glad they caught it in time to put in the filters. Good for you I've been in the ER several times myself & for my husband Doug but our experiences have been good but someone needs to know about the ER doctor and like someone else said you probably saved someone's life................Flora

Guest guest
Jane, You make a good point. I've read in many medical publications that everyone over the age of 40 should take a baby aspirin each day. Guest guest
Bonnie, My mother had a mitral valve replacement and she, too, is on coumadin for the rest of her life to avoid blood clots. But, I'm sure you knew what coumadin is.
Guest guest
HI DOLORES AND ALL DON'S HEART SPECIALIST SAYS THAT AN ASPIRIN WOULD NOT HELP WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEM. HE WILL BE ON COMADON (SP?) FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. SURE WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF HE HAD BEEN ON SOMETHING BEFORE THIS HIT. LOVE BONNIE Jane, You make a good point. I've read in many medical publications that everyone over the age of 40 should take a baby aspirin each day. Dolores

Guest guest
HI CONNIE, YOUR NOT BOTHERING ME. I'M JUST SCANNING THE E-MAIL RIGHT NOW TO CATCH THE NOTES SENT TO DON. THEY WOULD HAVE MOVED HIM OUT OF ICU TODAY BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE A BED ON THE MEDICAL SURGICAL UNIT. SO HE IS GETTING REALLY SPOILED BY THE ICU NURSES. WE ARE HOPE THAT HE WILL BE HOME BY THIS WEEKEND. SO I WILL GIVE YOU OUR HOME ADDRESS. I KNOW HE WILL APPRECIATE A CARD. HIS MOST FAVORITE TIME OF THE DAY IS WHEN THE MAILMAN COMES OR THE NEWSPAPER MAN. DONALD LUCAS 629 GEORGE ST. CLYDE, OH. 43410 THANK YOU AND LOVE TO ALL. BY THE WAY WE FINALLY GOT ALL THE MONEY FOR THE USED VAN. BOY AM I GOING TO TRY AND GET IT BEFORE HE GETS HOME. WON'T IT SUPRISE HIM IF I CAN TAKE HIM HOME IN HIS OWN VAN. PEOPLE ARE SO WONDERFUL. WE ONLY HAD TO PAY $500 FOR THE VAN THE REST OF THE MONEY WAS DONATED. WE NEVER IN A MONTH OF SUNDAYS EXPECTED THAT MUCH HELP. IT MAKE US FEEL SO HUMBLE. > Sorry, to bother you Bonnie, but, I'm a Connie come lately to this PLS Friends. If you get a chance, may I have Don's last name, so I may send a card in a little while? Guest guest
Gee, Bonnie, It's great that they are already talking about sending Don home. You must be relieved and very pleased. I hope that he will make steady progress and stay well. It's such a nice season of the year--too nice to spend it feeling " icky " . Fond regards to you both, Dolores Re: don's update > HI CONNIE, YOUR NOT BOTHERING ME. I'M JUST SCANNING THE E-MAIL RIGHT NOW > TO CATCH THE NOTES SENT TO DON. Guest guest
You are correct, Bonnie. Don does need Coumadin. My statement about aspirin is for the general well population to prevent blood clots from forming in the first place. Can I be of help in providing dietary guidelines for Coumadin therapy? Just let me know. Now that I have your address, I can put a copy of the instruction sheet that I did for my doctor's office. You two stay well and enjoy each other for many years to come.
