Guest guest
" Can some one walk me through how to make Nut Butter? Which Nuts work best? " Jeff, To make nut butter you just need a food processor. All you have to do is put the nuts into the food processor and blend until they turn into nut butter. Nothing tricky. Almonds are the hardest to do because the nuts themselves are the hardest. I think raw cashews are the easiest. You can also buy nut butters from the HFS if you would rather not have to spend the time grinding them into nut butter yourself. You can buy raw cashew butter, almond butter, macadamia butter, peanut butter at the store. I have not seen walnut butter or pecan butter at the store, but I live in a small town. Those may be available in other places. Jody mom to -5 and -7 SCD 15 months
Guest guest
Use the food attachment or nozzle for a juicer. Feed in the nuts and add enough oil to what comes out to make it spreadible. In a classic blender like an Oster. Put in small quantities of nuts and add a little oil. After a few spins, push all to the bottom and continue to process until smooth. I do not have a Cuisinart type of food processor so will stop right here. Blanched almonds, raw cashews and Macadamia nuts, work well. Pecans process faster. Filberts (hazelnuts) are a little tougher (and noisier). Guest guest
I’m new and haven’t started the diet yet, but trying to get my ducks in a row. Do all nut butters need to be from raw nuts? I have not been able to find raw cashew/macademia nut butter in the stores, only roasted. I don’t quite understand the problem with roasted nuts. Thanks! ASD daughter, 4 ½ yrs _____ From: Jody G. It makes very bland tasting baked goods (bland in a good way for people like me who don't really like nuts...LOL). I have never seen any raw nut butters except the raw cashew butter. Sorry for any confusion. Jody mom to -5 and -7 SCD 15 months
