Guest guest
Welcome to the group, . I don't know if I have any suggestions for you. If your BUN and creatinine are Ok, at least you know you don't have any renal insufficiency. Have you discussed this with another doctor besides the nephrologist? When there are ongoing issues, sometimes it's best to discuss it with a family doctor, as opposed to a specialist. The family doctor can sometimes see the bigger picture that a specialist might miss or not care very much about. Perhaps a second opinion could be arranged. How long have you been on daily aspirin? That alone can eventually cause kidney problems. The fact that a biospy was negative 4 years ago, but you continue to have blood and protein in the urine seems to suggest that either the first biopsy just didn't get enough good tissue to analyse, or else your situation has evolved. Anybody mention the possibility of a second biopsy? In terms of being aggressive with your therapy, it's hard to be aggressive if they don't know what you have. Pierre new to the group. > Hi, my name is . Oh, boy, where to begin. I have'nt technically been diagnosed with IGAN via biopsy. I had a biopsy 4 years ago that was negative. I was brought to that point due to hematuria and proteinuria. Since then, I've had " episodes " of gross hematuria lasting up to a month. BUN and CREAT have always been okay, although above 1gram in 24hr urine. Flank pain began about 1 year ago. I've been bleeding for 6 months straight now and am very discouraged. No answers. Meds are Diovan 160mg/hctz daily, toprol 50mg/d. ASA daily (had a stroke at age of 30), Darvocet prn pain.(DAILY) So fatigued all the time. My nephrologist says that this is either glomoulnephritis, or igan. Who knows. I am so tired of tests without any answers. But still cant pee without the toilet looking like I'm having a period. I have not had any doctor be aggressive with my therapy. Any suggestions? > >
