Guest guest
I'm mostly a lurker here because my DH made the " no treatment " decision in late August. His liver mets looked like swiss cheese, he had lung mets that were bilateral and numerous and " who knows what else " . The who knows what turned out to be brain mets which showed themselves right after Christmas with strange behavior. He also had liver pain. I called the hospice nurse on Monday morning and she knew immediately what to do. She got approval from the onc. to get Decadron. Within 2 hours after the first dose he was pain free and thinking straight. I've done my internet research and it's clear that he has brain mets. We've had a great week and week-end. He's back to his normal self, joking and being smart. The liver pain is gone. I know that this is temporary, but Decadron is our miracle drug. It's given him quality of life for at least a little time. He's almost two months past the predictions and has spent Christmas and New Year with his family. We're happy and so is he.
