Guest guest
It has occurred to me, that as each of us has good and bad days, wonderful and horrid days, weeks or even months to years, and different variations and stages of MS, it is good for new members to know a few things about our apparently cheerful group. Most of us are suffering far more than we are ready to acknowledge--at least on a frequent basis. That does not mean that some of us are not on a very slippery and downhill slope, possibly an avalanche. However, every single one of the hundreds of us who belong to this group enjoys the freedom to moan, groan, complain, gripe, criticise physicians, family members, the dog--and the absolute worst that will happen to any of us as we produce "the whine of the month"--kind of like a monthly period, is that the other members will rally round us and offer us some "cheese" to go with our "whine." We each feel that we suffer enough with MS, without causing suffering to others. We do not criticise others for being positive, nor chastise them for being really down and negative. It all goes with MS. To put it bluntly, we are just all "MSed up," and we are in the "same boat," with more in common than not with our "Multiple Surprises." No one who drops in on a Saturday or a Sunday should just assume that we are a group of people with only the mildest of MS, who just chat mindlessly and without meaning. Far from it; just because we are stalwart and endure, does not mean that we are not, at least emotionally, and possibly physically, falling apart. Of course, rapidly progressive MS, which gallops, is a tragedy of uncounted proportions, and we are all here to help in any way we can, including being silent and invisible, but present. We are HERE for all new members, long-standing (sitting) members, and even the most mildly affected. We are here for men, women, children, spouses, relatives, and the dogs and cats and other pets among us. O.K. 'nuff said. Love to you all, n
Guest guest
Yeah, I say each day when I get up. "Thanks to the one(s) who helped me get to this day". I don't know when the other shoe is going to drop nor do I want to know. If you would of meet me in the first days or weeks after my first attack you would of thought...she will only be here a few weeks then she will be gone. (from earth) I had MS and it was over. But then I found out that it was only the beginning of another obstacles in this game called life and I was going to get past it. I do not look forward to the day when I am like so many of us has been before flat on our back with our legs up in the air just waiting for that last sigh of breath. MS is not a death sentence any more...... it's just another thing we have to find our own way of working around or not. Thanks for the encouraging words!!! and I think of you as always smiling for some reason, but I know you have your days too.
