Guest guest
http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/celiac/The above link explains it very well. One of my dearestfriends, a friend since high school has this, and I knowothers who have this. Some have to avoid, wheat, triticale, rye, barley and even oats; until the condition is brought under control, sometimes the person is temporarily lactoseintolerant--there IS lactose-free milk called Lactaid. This is a condition which can be controlled so that it doesnot cause illness. If following the diet rigorously, readinglabels like a mad fiend, etc. does NOT bring improvement, then probably the person does not have it.That said, there was a big scare at Scotland Yard in the UKin the early 1960s when it was discovered that a very skilledthief was on the loose, and did not leave any fingerprints. There are some people, not many, who have severe CeliacDisease, which has never been treated, who actually DOlose their fingerprints. Scotland Yard actually did catch theguy and he was treated, and he did (poor guy) get his fingerprints back.Keep us all in the loop, please, and do let us know what the final diagnosis might be.Love to you, and to all in our group,n

Guest guest
, You crack me up! Ok, Miss Nosy--here's the scoop: for 2 wks I had uncontrollable diarrhea. I have been bloated, gassy and became dehydrated. The only thing that stopped it was/is lomotil (prescription).I saw the gastro fellow who suspects, as I've had 3 of these episodes within the last year--I have either IBS and/or celiac. My acupuncturist just called to check up on me, as he was aware of the stomach issue, and had worked on me, and much to my surprise he said he just attended a seminar on celiacs, and was very knowledgable (now). He said not to go on a gluten-free diet until after the endoscopy--as it can have a false negative should you begin the gluten free before the test...so I will have the endoscopy Jan 29, and will let ya all know what the deal is on the results. Until then, I just try and deal with the ill effects. Also, gastro man did prescribe librax, to calm down the spasms as well as more lomotil, as I need. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have, . hugs, Kate in NY Re: Celiac Disease or Celiac Syndrome; a LINK!> To: MSersLife@yahoogrou ps.com> > > http://digestive. niddk.nih. gov/ddiseases/ pubs/celiac/> > > > The above link explains it very well. Guest guest
That acupuncturist is absolutely right. If you do notattempt digest glutin-gliadin in the intestine just beforethe test is negative, you can and will get a false-negative.Love,n, joining in being "nosy."To: MSersLife Sent: Wednesday, January 7, 2009 3:29:17 PMSubject: Re: Celiac Disease or Celiac Syndrome; a LINK! , You crack me up! Guest guest
I am just feeling a bit silly, LOL thought you could use the laugh. My daughter Chelsea calls that random thinking... Okay, well that answers alot of questions for me. I have bouts of constipation, then a day or so later I will have diarrea and while thats going on I will get sick to my stomach. I always think it was something I ate. Food poisoning is what I think of when it happens, but I know that can't be either cause it will only last for a few hours. I haven't asked my doctor about it cause I really don't want to go through another battery of tests again. It only happens about 2 time in 3-6 months. Anyway Thanks for the info, Love as Always,Sometimes lurking, mostly reading, always caring.
