Guest guest
, Yes, I do take Armour thyroid. I don't consider it a drug though, since it is not a synthetic, man made creation that is foreign to the human body. It is a replacement hormone that my body makes and needs to function correctly, but just not in enough amounts. Armour is derived from pigs, but it is the most closely associated natural form of thyroid to humans available. That's why I choose it over the synthetic Synthroid meds. I guess when I say drugs, I mean those kinds that are created in a lab by drug companies trying to tweak our bodies in all kinds of scary ways. They are not found in nature, they are not normal to the human body. Most are toxic, and in the long run, prevent healing. Replacement hormones are another story, as we all need those--some are so necessary to life that we would die without them (the ones produced by the adrenals). Prednisone is actually a synthetic form of cortisol but in doses way higher than what our body produces...you could take cortef instead of prednisone and be taking something bio- identical to what our body makes. But even with cortef, caution is in order as we can shut down our own natural production with too much of it. Anyway, yes, I do take Armour thyroid for my Hashimoto's. Guest guest
Thanks Patty, Nice to know there are natural hormones that can be taken. As you said, I hope with these numbers that they will finally treat me. I wish they had tried treating me last June because I think I would have felt so much better for all these months. I'll keep you posted with my antibody results on Tues. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > http://www.myspace.com/clspin > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I have not a clue what I am doing - he he....
