You have accomplished so much in your life and you are so positive despite everything and so much of the time you really do give me the strength to keep pushing through the bad stuff because there is the good stuff on the other side, thank you for being that role model, I really look up to you, you are an amazing person! It's going to take my emotions a while to catch up with the logic, but I'm hopeful that it will happen soon. I had a dream last night that one of you wrote me a message saying, "You ask a lot of questions. Could you put them all in one email and be done with it?" I was glad when I woke up that it was just a dream. The next thing I thought after I woke up is that this coworker is like this pair of shoes I used to have. I had bought them online, on clearance, and they were the best-looking pair of shoes I'd ever seen in my life. I wanted to wear them so bad! But every time I put them on, my feet would immediately start throbbing in pain. I checked the web, but couldn't find them in my size anywhere. I tried everything- putting cotton in the toes to pad the pain only made it worse because the shoes were too small to begin with, and the cotton took up space, making the insides smaller. Once, I forced myself to wear them to a my stepdaughter's dance recital, figuring I'd take them off once I was seated, but I could barely walk between the car and the auditorium. I had to concentrate on not limping, which would wreck this image I was trying to portray with these great shoes. I have to say I did get at least a couple of compliments from strangers on the shoes. Just sitting or standing was excruciating, but I figured it would be worth it to be wearing such awesome shoes. Needless to say, this feeling wore off about 30 seconds in to walking from the parking lot to the auditorium. (I'd taken them off in the car, of course)So here's my point: I realized this morning that this coworker IS this pair of shoes. He's a bad fit and nothing is going to change that. He's not going to change, and I'm not going to be able to make this a good fit. He's just a good-looking, flat-butted pair of shoes with no upgrade path to a better fit. Re: Here's his butt !
