Beth, I agree with you wholeheartedly. That's why I asked where all the new

members were coming from in the first place. I don't want any legal problems!!!

So, how would I go about having our site removed from there? Is the member who

posted it reading here?

I've never seen Weight Watchers go after a yahoo group, but I have seen them

shut down some of my favorite websites. I believe Dotti has constant battles

with WW as well.

I sure don't need that kind of trouble, and I don't want our community to be

disrupted whatsoever.

I think the problem is, if WE can find this group and find about

about things that are in our files, then so can WW officials, who

don't seem to look to kindly on such files. The have been known to

take legal action.

I think the best thing to do is to not post information about this

private group on other forums. It's a safety issue. I would hate to

see us shut down. Unfortunately I've seen it happen loads of times

with Yahoo groups.

Yep! I am here... I know that I posted the latest version. I will remove

it after work today. I was thinking the same thing with all of the other

troubles people are having with having the application available on their

website. I will remove it. Do you think there would be an issue with

posting a text file on where to go to GET WWCalc at Dotti's? They have a

spot where people can post that they want the program and then someone

emails it to them. That way OUR group isn't responsible for distributing

it.

Anyhow, I will delete what I have uploaded. I think there are a couple of

other versions in the Files section that I didn't post... I don't know if

those people are still on the list. If you, as our " listmom " , or the

moderators have access to delete the files, please feel free to do so!!

Oh, I misread the email about asking " who posted it up there.. " I thought

she was asking who uploaded the FILE... Okay, so she was asking who had

mentioned in the Palm User group that it was here... Ah... I see the light!

But I do think that we should probably remove it. That would solve the

whole issue of any links coming back to us. I mean, if Weight Watchers DOES

find its way to our group, we can honestly say that we don't have the file

available. I did think of that when I was uploaded the " latest " versions,

but I guess I had also thought that no one but our group would " know " about

it. Dumb thinking on my part. I would think that WW has at least one

person with the responsibility to search the internet looking for things

Well... WW wouldn't shut us down but Yahoo could for distributing software

that is not supposed to be.

Do you really think they can shut us down? This is called Serious Weight

Watchers. That's what we are...serious about watching our weight. I don't think

they have complete control over the term weight watcher. It is way to broad do

you?

I think that we should just remove the WWCalc completely. (And if any newer

versions come out, we can figure something out then.)

Forgive me if I am wrong but if WW should see the WWCalc in our files -

wouldn't they just ask that we take it out of there? They asked you to

stop selling on e-bay. When they ask us to take it out of our " Files "

then you should do it. Am I wrong? It was a very pleasant surprise for

me to find it in the files and I downloaded it to my palm. It was truly

an answer to prayer! Why don't we leave it until asked to remove it?

Another idea if you have to take it out. - If someone asks if they make

something for a Palm then we could just send it to them via e-mail.

Weight Watchers is to be watched carefully on the matters. WW has made it

impossible for me to sell on Ebay....I listed my WW cookbooks and materials and

they said I violated their copy rights and was told no more selling on Ebay. I

listed my stuff just like the other sellers and have asked what I did wrong and

how to make it right...no answer. So, dear list mom....take care. You are wise

to be concerned.
