Guest guest
I have the Pomegranate Concentrate and the ingredients list as: Pure Pomegranate Juice Concentrate, and that's all. It does seem sweeter. Don't have to use saccharine in it at all and it has a Kool-Aid type flavor. Guest guest
Kathy, Pure juice, extracted wih a juicer,is even sweeter than the fresh pomegranade. Go buy a pomegranade and then juice it with a juicer. Do not use a blender ,nor a Vitamix. You will see that the juice is so much sweeter. I called DW and talked with the owner and she reassured me that the juices are pure. Her husband knows the owner of the company that make the concentrates, they went to school together. She said that the owner of the company that make the concentrates is a very honest and religeous man. I am happy to see that everyone is being very careful about ready made products. I completely trust Digestive Wellness, but that is my personal decision. I will soon explain why. Mimi > > Suzan > > I finally went to Rochel's website. Guest guest
Hi Mimi & Kathy, Although the pomegranate " sounds " okay there is another thing to think about. Kathy has been having trouble with Abby. What I am suggesting is that she cuts it out and gradually reintroduces things to see what is causing the trouble. To my knowledge, pomegranate isn't something that Elaine recommends. She recommends grape juice and local apple cider* for the intro diet. Beyond that she gives the okay to orange juice once d clears up, tomato juice, pineapple juice*. She has tested these juices and they are appropriate as per BTVC for various progressions along the road to healing. Pomegranate juice (as a type of juice) isn't listed among the legal juices in BTVC. I have no idea to it's nutritional breakdown, what kinds of natural sugars it has and if they are appropriate for those with gut troubles. It may be fine, but then again it might not be. As we have said to others when they decide to use products that are questionable. Please report this when writing to the list and please consider discontinuing that item(s) if there is some trouble. * Welch's pure grape juice (from concentrate) Tropicana Orange juice (Pure premium no additives) Tomato juice (Heinz and 's) Pineapple juice (Dole) Sheila UC, 20 years -- in remission after 38 mos SCD mom of SCD 23 mos > Pure juice, extracted wih a juicer,is even sweeter than the fresh > pomegranade. Guest guest
Hi Carol and Mimi, I know this was meant for off-list but I'll respond here. We are all just looking out for these kids. Are goals are all the same - that these children get better. If some are fine with some products then great. But when they are having trouble with some products we need to look closer at what they are having and consider removing them. All of us are individuals and foods that may seem as if they would be illegal are not necessarily suitable for all. Guest guest
Hi , I never tried juicing pomegranades but I was told that you can take the red part and put the whole thing thru the juicer and it will extract the juice and remove the seed. The person who told me that used the Juiceman 2 juicer. I hope this helps,Mimi > > Mimi, > Do you cut the pomegranade and remove the seeds with the pulp( I do not know what is called) the red part and put the whole thing thru the juicer and it will extract the juice and remove the seed? Thanks
