Guest guest
I am trying to learn about this condition. I am age 60, and 15 years ago total testosterone was about 200. I was placed on deletesteral, but I quit because the leg where I injected hurt for 2 or 3 days afterward. I do not have much facial hair(shave every third day, as does my father so thought it was inherited)or body hair, especially chest and upper legs.I was also had fatigue, depression symptoms, and in restrospect, did not function well. Was unable to have sex after I stopped TR, which has now been ten or more years. I came back from a business trip earlier this month with prostatitis, and the doctor told me the prostate needed to be emptied regularly. I decided to ask for some Viagara. Very pleased with the result, but I can not achieve penetration. I do ejaculate. My family practice physician is willing to try TR, but only after the blood tests come back. He is not sure that TR will help make the erection stronger to the point that I can penetrate. Any thoughts on if the TR will make the erection strong enough to penetrate. My wife does not think there is much difference between the strength of the erection if the dose was 25,50, or 100(we have tried all three). I would appreciate your comments, including what might make the erections stronger. I am very pleased that I can have an erection again!!!! I am going to work with my fam prac doctor and my urologist for a while. If I don't get satisfactory results, I will likely contact a referral source. At one time I was given the names of several doctors who specialized in impotency. Look forward to your comments. Guest guest
. . . You certainly have found a home! We know what you're going through and we know you can get your life back! Obviously finding the right doctor is first . . . You're already in the process of doing that. . . Next is getting your diet in order. . . I recommend "The Maker's Diet" . . . The idea is to establish a healthy digestive system so your body can get the nutrients it needs to heal itself. . . Chances are good you have a fungal issue going on . . . Here's a test you can do at home: http://www.victorie-inc.us/Threelac_Candida_Free_Test.htm Also, read "The Yeast Connection". You'll see how fungal problems can mimic a host of diseases. Until you have it your implants out, have fungal issues under control and have time to detox, you really won't know what issues you have left. One concern is adrenal fatigue . . . but let's save that for later. Fungal problems cause one to crave sugar, because that's what fungus lives on! . . . That's why diet is so important. You have to stop the things that feed fungus (like sugar and refined grains), and give it the materials it needs to build health cells and restore beneficial organisms your body needs to repair damaged cells. You can do "The Maker's Diet" on line . . . Search for "Garden of Life" . . . there's a subscription fee, but our ladies tell us it's delicious. We recently started recommending Caprylic Acid . . . it's a capsule, derived from coconut. . . available at health food stores or online. . . Start slow . . . one at night, one the next morning, then one that night . . Each with a full glass of water. . . Each day, add one more in the morning or evening until you're taking 3600 mg a day. . When you reach full dose, continue for 16 days. . . Before you finish Caprylic Acid, start phasing in a good probiotic - like Garden of Life Primal Defense. . . Start the same way as Caprylic acid . . . work up to eight capsules a day . . . continue indefinitely. . . After your spit test looks good, you can cut back. There are other things that can help . . . Lots of them. . . It can get really confusing if we put all them on you right now. . . You have enough to consider right now. One question . .. How is your son's health? . . . I started a group for the families of children made sick by breast implants. . . The thing that seems to help them most is a very healthy diet too . . . The sooner the better. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Welcome! What Rogene has said here is the way to go....she knows her stuff! What I can share with you is that I just flew to Denver and had my implants removed by Dr. Huang. She came HIGHLY recommend by this group and she was wonderful. I live in California and did not want to take the chance of having a doctor not remove my implants properly. I saw the physician who inserted my implants and she was willing to remove them however she wanted to keep all my scar tissure in me....the ladies here told me to run from her. It has been a large expense but worth it. Now matter who you go to it will be costly but your health is worth it. My insurance would not cover this so I had to put it on a charge card. I have been so sick, I needed the implants out as soon as possible. I thought good and long about this and I wanted a qualified and recommended doctor. Dr. Huang is very affortable. She did a great job on me and others here in the group. I know that " flying " to have surgery is kinda of scary but I must tell you, it was worth it! I had a friend come with me and she took great care of me. It was not that expensive to fly and stay there and I even rented a car. We got a hotel with a frig and a microwave, really helpful. Hope all works out for you and PLEASE keep asking all the ladies questions. Were here for you! Hugs to you! Cherie > > . . . > > You certainly have found a home! Guest guest
Thanks for sharing your story, I can relate because my achalasia seemed to behave very mildly for years. I have had it for 22yrs now. I'm surprised that Dr. Rice is telling you to wait, maybe they want to see what happens after the botox and dilation wears off. My biggest complaint was the swallowing....and still is. I am finally going to see someone about the surgery. I think if you are worried about the insurance and the future, could you discuss that with him? I also had no motility 17yrs ago, yet they still considered that mild??? I think they obviously don't understand how awful it is to eat without being able to swallow and have it go down... Please stay in touch, I know some of the others will have more input.  Best regards, Julee So Calif. ________________________________ From: thezisad <thezisad@...> achalasia Sent: Wed, August 11, 2010 2:34:37 PM Subject: My Story...  Hello All, I am a 23 year old male...2 years into this adventure. I have been reading this forum for the past 3 months ever since I was diagnosed (sort of) with Achalasia. About 2 years ago I began seeing a Doctor for the pain and discomfort that I was feeling. He initially treated me as most Doctors tend to do, as having GERD and nothing more serious. After about a year he began to wonder if there perhaps was something additional that was occurring besides simply GERD. Perhaps he realized that the PPI's and all other medications I was on simply did not work. A little over a year ago my Doctor began to search out other possible causes for my issues. He initially did an endoscopy and biopsies to see if he could see any problems...I came back totally normal. He then had me undergo blood tests, x-rays and ultrasounds to see if there was any other issues...he found nothing. 3 or so moths ago my Doctor finally decided that he had used up each of his options and that it was time for me to see the Doctors at the " Ivory Tower (i.e. Cleveland Clinic - I am 1 hour away). At that point I began seeing Dr. Achkar who initially did not understand why I was there seeing him as my symptoms did not sound too serious to them. After my initial consultation Dr. Achkar had me undergo a normal Barium Swallow test which showed that I was not able to get the Barium to go down into my stomach very easily. Eventually the Barium passed but it took some time and effort for me to get it down. The strange thing about this test was that I also swallowed a solid pill which passed straight through to my stomach with no issues what so ever. Next I went up and had a manometry with the nurse. The manometry showed that I had no motility in my esophagus what so ever. They were not able to get any sort of a ready when I would swallow the water. After this Dr. Achkar informed me that he believed I had Achalasia. He said that while my test results for the Barium were unusual they still appeared to show Achalasia as the manometry showed no motility. The next step a few weeks later was an appointment with Dr. Rice who would be my surgeon. Before meeting with Dr. Rice, I went and had a timed barium swallow so that they could measure how backed up I was getting. This is where the fun began...I passed the barium swallow with no issues. It appeared for the sack of this test that I was completely normal. I went up and met with Dr. Rice and he said that he did not believe that I had Achalasia because of the fact that if I had Achalasia I would not be able to pass a timed barium swallow test. Dr. Rice told me that he was very confused so he called Dr. Achkar and they discussed my case. They agreed upon the fact that they believe I have an " early stage " of Achalasia - that my esophagus has not motility but that my LES is still working (at least intermittently). They then decided that the best course of action was to do nothing and have me wait (in their opinion no more than 6 months) for my symptoms to get worse so that they could operate (Heller Myotomy). They said that they would not operate on me if I was not at the " end stage " of the disease. A couple weeks went by and I started to feel much worse so I went back in to see Dr. Achkar. He had me do another timed barium swallow and this time I had some (about 1 inch) of barium get stuck for about 1 minute. Dr. Achkar noted that this may be intermittent LES activity or it may truly be a worsening of my disease. Dr. Achkar noted that because of the extreme paid that I had to deal with it would be wise to have me do a small dilation with Botox to see if that would help alleviate my issues. I had the dilation and the Botox done 3 weeks ago and for the most part It has been totally life changing. I am able to eat most anything I want and have not had to deal with the extreme pain (I still deal with some intermittent vomiting of liquids and breathing issues). I was under the impression that if this Botox treatment worked that they would have enough evidence of Achalasia advancement to operate on me...however, when I spoke to Dr. Achkar he noted that the course of action we now need to take is to simply allow the Botox to wear off in 6-12 months and then reset up appointments with him at that time to figure out additions courses of action. At this point, as you can imagine, I am getting very frustrated as I am convinced that I need the operation as the " test procedure " worked exactly how they needed it too. I am concerned that in 6-12 months we are just going to start down this same road and end up with another treatment of Botox (which I am very against)...Should I go and see another surgeon for a second opinion...I am concerned that if I continue to simply sit and with I may lose my insurance, and other life issues any come up. Anyways, sorry for my rambling, I just needed to write out my story so that I don't forget and so that I can receive some advice. God bless!
