Yes, my banana allergy is linked to latex cross reactive Foods that often

affect people with Latex and Natural Rubber Allergy. This should not be a

concern for the majority on the list as it affects only a small segment of

the population. Other trigger foods for latex allergy: chestnut, celery, apple,

carrot, Kiwi, avocado.

I no longer try these foods as I react almost every time. latex allergy can

get worse with each exposure so practice careful avoidance. SCD has not

alleviated

this.

Carol, I am curious about this comment because my daughter had a violent

reaction to banana last week after I put it back in her diet after being out

of her diet about a month. The no-fenol did not work and I know it was more

of a allergic reaction. Can

you explain this more in detail. Does it have to do with latex due to some

of the same components? This doesn't mean she could have a latex allergy

does it? Thank you.

Kathy,

I emailed you links to info on Latex Allergy. It only affects a small segment

of the population.

There are tests called TRUE and RAST but they aren't always accurate and you

should be guided by reactions more than test results.

This is the only one I have an answer for - when I started CP it was so much

stronger/more potent than the over the counter stuff I'd been using, I had some

pain/upset in the bowels and then passed hard nasty stuff followed by lots of

water. Also some die-off feelings a few days. Luke did not react too badly to

intro'ing it, though. HTH
