Regression (Inflammation, PANDAS, etc)

My son started regressing a few mos. ago with drop in eye contact language,

strange movements, tics, etc. He got better a few wks later. I remember saying

to my husband that it was so scary to see him plummet like that. All was jolly

and well until it happened again. The tics came back, he began to do a loud

" clap " with his hands out of nowhere, and he would make a weird noise like he

was a horse. Awaiting word from our DAN, I gave him Flagyl for a week or so

thinking it might just be bacterial. His language has gotten better and less

tics, but they are still there. His OCD is still there with having to do

everything on his own, repetitive speech, getting fixated on something, etc.

After talking to Dr. Megson, we are going to pick up his Zithromax this evening

(he loses all involuntary arm movements when on this).

I guess my question is " Why has he gone through 2 bouts of this in a matter of a

few months? " Does an overloaded immune system make PANDAS conditions worse?? He

does have a cold right now and I know allergies have been crazy this season.

Would this trigger a flare? Also, he has a lazy eye that comes and goes, and it

seems to be VERY bad right now. What would this mean? How is this all playing

into eachother?? I was thinking the eye thing would be inflammation, but

wondering how this all plays into everything else that's going on right now. We

haven't added anything major lately and haven't chelated in I don't know how

long. He doesn't appear to have yeast either and is having normal bowel

movements. This is a scary time...does anyone know what might be going on

here???
