Guest guest
Cherie and All- I also forgot to mention that I have put on about 3-4 pounds since surgery! I know this is not something that gals are usually excited about, but if you guys only knew with my struggle with this you would understand why this is such a feat for me. I weighed in at 100 pounds at the hospital and was told I HAVE to gain some weight. Well, I already knew this but haven't been able to because I've been so sick. Well, I put on a pair of my jeans today (yes, I am getting dressed and going to the post office!) and they were actually a little tight! I got on the scale and was so pleasantly surprised. I am just so excited about this. AND, in this shower this morning I decided to shave my legs (haven't done that in a week) and I was bending over a little, and I noticed that I do have boobs! There was actually boob there when I bend over! The righty is bigger then the lefty which doesn't surprise me because the left is the one that had the deflation so it's been through more trauma then the right. But, I don't even care! Okay, so those are my two little positives for the day. I've been such a doom and gloom lately that I just had to share....hehehehhe. Guest guest
Cherie, I waited until about 6 weeks after explant.. but you might be able to start earlier. That would be a good question for Dr. Huang. I sometimes wish that I had started them a little earlier. Guest guest
Krista, Congrats on the weight gain. I'm in the same boat! Most women don't understand our wish for a few more pounds but like you I need it. I am now at 100...gained 12 since surgery. I swear I looked like a skeleton and I was eating more than my 210 pound husband! Looks like you're already fluffing. Good for you for getting out to the post office. Sounds like you are making a lot of progress! Take care. - PH > > > > > > > > > > Hi Cherie, > > > > > > > > > > It sounds like you are doing fabulous!! Guest guest
Cherie, I am sure with the lift you will be just fine. I lost a lot of tissue and she couldn't find enough fat for the transfers, so I didn't have enough UMPF under my nipples. It happened right after surgery. I am sure you will just fine. Guest guest
Krista, The fact that implants are crystal clear doesn't mean they are not contaminated. . . A few organisms can cause major problems. Hugs, Rogene Re: Cherie is toxic free!! Hey Cherie- It's soooooooooo good to hear from you and know that thisis all behind you. You sound like you are in such better spirits thenyou have been over the past couple of weeks. It's so good to hear thatyou are happy with the look of your new breasts. The first time I got a look at mine when unwrapped them, Ithought I was going to faint. I tried to prepare myself for how smallthey were going to be, but I just don't think you can completely. There really isn't much left. I wish I would have been a candidate forthe fat transfers (not sure my hubby would have let me do it anyway)but I wasn't. Dr. Huang's nurses were teasing me at the hospital andtelling me just to wait till I get pregnant then I'll get some boobs,I sure hope so! Right now, there's nothing to even put in a bra! Other then that, I'm feeling pretty good. The soreness is gettingbetter each day. I'm still REALLY tired and sleeping 12 hours a night,I think my body must be worn down. I think it's still too early totell if my health has improved significantly because I haven't donemuch but lay around the house (however my lymph nodes have gone downand I've put on a few pounds (this is an ongoing battle) since surgery, so that is good.) I guess in the next few months, I will able to seeimprovements (or at least I hope!)Yes, I have my implants, I didn'twant them, but for some reason my hubby did (not sure why, funny guy,)she gave them to me in a ziplock bag and they are crystal clear. Oneof them looks a little disformed, but no mold or any other yuckies. Well, you are on your way home today. So, post again when you get achance. Keep on pampering yourself! That is the best part out of allof this!Love, Krista> > >> > > Hi ladies!> > > > > > My friend brouht her laptop so I thought I would let you know how > I'm > > > doing. I doing very well. Guest guest
Rogene- Oh, I believe it. I still have the implants, but I think what really caused all of my problems was when one of them got a " mysterious hole " in it and deflated last spring. That is when all of my problems began...really makes ya go hmmmmm......doesn't it? ~Krista > > > > > > Cherie- It's so good to hear from you. Guest guest
Krista, When a saline implant leaks, or ruptures, it can result in deadly toxic shock! . . . Or, not much better, loss of limbs! . . . Saline solution has only a two-year shelf life, in a bottle on a shelf! . . . Change that to body temperature, put it in a dark place, in a semi-porous shell, with a defective valve and it spells TROUBLE! So much for "safe" saline solution being absorbed by the body! Guest guest
And that is precisely why I have been living in he** the past year.....sigh..... My left arm (side where it happened) has been positively on fire since it happened too. I guess that's better then toxic shock or the loss of my limbs though. Sad. ~Krista > > Krista, > > When a saline implant leaks, or ruptures, it can result in deadly toxic shock! . . . Guest guest
Krista, As bad as you feel right now, things could be much worse! . . . Much, much worse! That's the reason we keep telling women to have their implants removed en bloc, if at all possible! . . . If the surgeon cuts into the capsule and finds it full of contaminanted saline solution, that stuff may get spilled into the chest cavity! . . . Terrible! Your job right now is to put one foot in front of the other. Keep doing the things you need to do to take care of your body - especially regarding nutrition! You wouldn't remodel your house overnight . . . You've got to give your body time to remodel itself . . . one cell at a time. Guest guest
Cherie,Are you going to have Dr. Blais examine your implants? . . . He's the one who will figure out which organisms are there . . .The path report that your surgeon orders won't . . . They simply report on the type and condition of cells in the capsules - and a brief description of the implant. . . I don't think they want to look any further.Dr. Blais found 22 organisms in Shari's implants . . . Even told her that her surgeon had a dropped ceiling. Guest guest
Rogene, I had not planned on doing that but do you recommend I do? Do I have to contact Dr. Huang to find out of if the lab will send them to me? Is it very costly? What does the dropped ceiling mean? Thanks for the info, Cherie > > Cherie, > > Are you going to have Dr. Blais examine your implants? . . . Guest guest
I'm doing hit and miss with posts here, ladies. I apologize! I need to be in bed.... Anyway, Cherie, you may want to have your implants analyzed if you believe it would be beneficial to know what kind of organisms you are dealing with and want to target your approach to healing. Some women are fighting fungus, some women are fighting bacteria, probably we are fighting both at some point in time. If anything, Dr. Blais's report will give you validation on your situation and may help in getting insurance to cover the cost of explant. That is what happened in Shari's case. It is best to make arrangements ahead of time to get the implants send off for analysis; otherwise they can be destroyed by accident and you lose any chance of getting them properly analyzed. The comment on the dropped ceiling means that Dr. Blais was able to identify some chemical originating with a ceiling product or a component associated with ceiling tiles...meaning that her implants were already contaminated from the environment in the surgeon's office when she underwent implantation, according to his findings. Guest guest
The dropped ceiling thing is amazing. It's gross. It's huge. It speaks volumes that they don't even have an acceptable procedure for implanting the implants yet, much less have a decent product to implant. Re: Cherie is toxic free!! Guest guest
Cherie, You should get a pathology report from the lab at the least. You can maybe get the implants back. I told them I wanted to keep mine before I had the explant surgery. When I discovered they didn't give me the capsules back, I called to see if I could get them. They only keep things for 2 weeks... so my capsules were gone. I sent mine to Dr Blais...even though they were not ruptured. I'm still waiting for his report. He is charging me 325.00 for the report but for me, it is worth knowing how these may have impacted my health. > > > > Cherie, > > > > Are you going to have Dr. Blais examine your implants? . . .
