Guest guest
Hi Kathy, > Decided to make some p.nut brownies today even though I don't use peanut butter much. I went by the recipe but they were kind of dry. If I find a recipe is a bit dry I add a little applesauce or ripe banana - 1 tbsp or so to moisten it up. I usually add the fruit to the Peanut Butter Cake recipe on pecanbread.com > Is this the consistency that is expected with this recipe? Depends which recipe it is. I find the Peanut Butter Brownie recipe at http://www.pecanbread.com/recipes.html to be more..well brownie- like. Also, >everything I have made seems mostly cake-like. Is anything crunchy >or chewy as in a cookie or brownie, etc.? Which recipe book has the most dairy-free recipes? I only have Lucy's cookbook and BTVC so I can't really say. But there are lots of dairy free recipes on our website http://www.pecanbread.com/recipes.html Sheila UC, 20 years -- in remission after 38 mos SCD mom of SCD 23 mos
Guest guest
I just underbake PB brownies slightly for a " gooier " texture. Guest guest
I used a rectangular 8 " x 12 " Pyrex pan. Perhaps try an 8 " square for deeper moist brownies. We should add a pan size to the recipe. On Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 10:47 AM, Pearl String wrote: > > What size pan are these brownies made in? I mix nut butter, yogurt and a little honey to make a creamy icing. You could also slice them horizontally before they are cut in squares and use this as a filling. Carol F.
