Guest guest
If you had BDD, you could never focus on much of anything else. You may have a milder version of it. Therapy is wonderful, most of us could use it. Lynda At 09:15 AM 11/18/2007, you wrote: >Lynda- > >Have you heard of BDD (body dysmorphic disorder)? I think that's >what I have. Guest guest
I thought my husband was the only American who drank Kefir. We always have it in our house. He buys it, though- doesn't make it. Yuck! I can't even stand the smell of it. What flavors do you make?I know what you mean about not trusting the government & doctors. One thing I found interesting, though, was when the surgeon told me I could ask him anything, and that he would never lie to me. He said this as he was walking out of the consult. I said to him, "Then wait a minute." He looked surprised and turned around. I said, "You said you'd never lie to me, so I have a question." He looked uncomfortable, I thought. I asked, "If you were me, would you do this?" He didn't say anything for a while, then said he's a man, so he doesn't understand why women do this. He said his wife wants them, and he's told her not until after they're done having kids. But I got the impression he didn't want her to get them ever. He told me he doesn't understand why women do this, but one thing he could tell me is that after they get their implants, they are new people when they return for checkups. He said they hold their heads higher (their original one, and the new ones they sprout due to silicone leakage- just kidding) and they have way more self-confidence. He said he thinks there is a strong link between the breastsand self-esteem in women, but that as a man, he doesn't understand it. He tends to do his women much smaller than other doctors in town. I'm somewhat convinced he doesn't like the implant look. It was just kind of interesting,Prior to him I saw a woman doctor who did the basketball look in most of her patients. She wanted me to get 425cc. The male doctor recommended no more than 325cc for me. That's quite a swing, huh? It shows how the doctor's personal preference comes into play in this type of surgery. Re: Implant Denial Ballerina ~ It is not hard at all for me to understand you.... I understand completely.. ..I am also thick headed, I have just changed what I am thick headed about... I also grew up believing that people like doctors, Priests, the government, ( FDA), and big corporations, and all were to be trusted. To respect them and trust what they say. It must be correct or true, they are doctors, and they are trustworthy, they are men of God or it is a drug company, or a research center. I think that has been a huge lesson for me. The only reason I have salines in right now is because I wasnt suposed to outlive them.......I I trusted what I was told, as they were doctors ! I am alive......very much alive....... ...but have been too ill to have another surgery. I cant do all that detox and all, not now. My heart wouldnt be able to handle it. It is as fragile as butterfly wings......Dr Kolb will remove the implants as soon as my heart doctors say it is ok. No one in Texas will touch me cuz of my heart .. It is these implants that are making me so sick tho, so it is a catch 22. Just before getting cardiac clearance this summer, I had a heart episode and was shocked 6 times by this defibrillator, 830 volts each time. It almost killed me. My heart was stopped for 9 min 58 seconds. Well, it was spasing out or quivering instead of beating. So, anyway, what I do tho is eat lots of raw veges, have salad every single day. I drink kefir a couple times a day which I make, it is fermented milk that is full of vitamins and probiotics and healthy balanced organisms for my digestive system and intestines. I swear by it. I eat garlic a couple days in a row about every week or two as I herx bad, and have to be careful. I also take 3/4 tsp of xylitol every day, it kills bacteria and fungal organisms too, but is subtle. I drink lots of purified water with minerals, I take magnesium and calcium with D a couple times a day, and I take Co Enzyme Q 10, flax oil gels 2 times a day and a senior vitamin. I make sure I laugh every single day....... I am a very spiritual person , and I am goofy as hell, so I do laugh alot.... God Bless ~ Dede See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.. Guest guest
I just pictured marriage as being more of a "together" thing. My husband asks me why I blame my boobs. He said my boobs are probably mad at me, and trying to scream, "Why is it our fault? Why don't you blame it on your butt??" He's funny. He said my body has nothing to do with why he isn't affectionate, but I feel like a couple of bazoongas would get his attention. But it isn't worth my health. He had even started referring to it as my "Christmas Rack" because my original surgery date was Dec. 4 Re: Implant Denial Ballerina ~ It is my pleasure. Ya know, what would you rather be doing, A. standing in the middle of a couple guys drooling and oogeling like some babbeling idiots, while you enjoy a moment of attention to your boobs, not you, or your intelligence. .. ( Somehow boobs tend to make many men stupid ) B. Or be out there being the gymnast that people love watching and admire..... You know, I keep reading your posts and I see two areas that you are batteling... .... self love and embracing your already perfect body man attention - deficit ......you are being ignored by your husband while he feeds his sports addiction... .. You cant fix someones elses addiction... .....to anything.... .. Your hubbys addiction leaves you bored.... You can fix that by filling your life with what you love and enjoy doing. Then you will be to busy to get bored, or ever feel left out......because you wont be ! Since you will be doing what you love you will be happy, very happy....... .. Guest guest
Ballerina, When you start loving yourself, your relationship may change with your hubby. You can be an example for him. Guest guest
Ballerina . . . There are a host of reasons why a man may not be affectionate . . . Many of them have nothing to do with the woman in their life . . . It's something that both of you might want to explore. . . . Your hubby sounds like a good man! . . . a keeper! Your feelings about your body may prevent you from putting out good vibes. . . It's not your body though . . . It starts in the head . . . both yours and his. Guest guest
Ballerina, We've seen a number of women who went under the knife planning to get small implants, only to wake to huge ones . . . because the surgeon thought they would look better. Interesting that he would say that he didn't want her to get implants at least until she had finished having children. . . I wonder if he has any idea of the problems the kids have, or if it's a nursing issue. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Ballerina, I heard Montel has a silicone chest implant . . . Mercury fillings need to be removed properly . . . using equipment to capture the fumes generated by removing the fillings. I hope your dentist is using the right stuff! Foot baths will help remove heavy metals. . . You can get a test for heavy metals through www.ionicoasis.com website. The idea is to test before, and after doing foot baths to see if the metals are gone. . . That may be a good investment for you . . . on ebay, you can get their best unit for about half their regular retail price. I paid $225 for mine. Guest guest
I hadn't thought to ask him why he said to wait until after children. I assumed it was because he thought having kids would wreck the look & require a redo. But now that I've learned more, it does make me wonder the actual reason he's basically required her to wait until after kids. It sounded like it was a mandate on his part.
