To take 3 weeks and pretend you love your body and are the most beautiful, confident, smart, and sexy woman in the whole wide world. .....take notes and then tell me what it was like, how people reacted to you, men and women, co-workers, bosses, friends, and people you had interaction with that you did not know, tell me how you felt, and how you felt about yourself......... Ya know, they say that ya do something repeatedly for 3 weeks, that it becomes a habit...... Love Hugs and Hope~ DedeSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
Ballerina . .. Not everyone gets sick . . . at least not in the short term . . . Long term? . . . I'd be surprized if less than 95% of the women are symptom free in 20 years. Dr. Kolb had silicone gel implants. She replaced those with saline. She has access to the best in detox and diet. Maybe she can stay healthy and keep her implants. That's one risk I wouldn't want to take! How old are you now? . . . You may grow larger naturally yet! I was going through old family photos . . . I swear the women in our family continued developing throughout their entire life! One friend had a reduction - but continued getting bigger after that! . . . without gaining weight elsewhere! Have you had any children yet? . . . Some women end up larger after child bearing . . .Unfortunately, some end up smaller (like me). Have you shopped at 's Secret? . .. They have some bras that will make you look big - without implants! . . . At least with clothing on . . . What's under that is your, and your hubby's business only. Guest guest
Ballerina, You are so wrong - I remember exactly why I wanted them, I was just like you... pure vanity. And had I visited this board before implant, there is no way I would have got implants - - have you read any of the files. Women have died from implants and silicone, do you want to take that chance??????? I had mine in 1999. I did not have internet at home at that time. I trusted my doctor. Do I think everybody who gets implants gets sick? I have no idea. Did I, yes very. It has nearly ruined my life. None of us can make your decision for you. You are a big girl. If you want them get them. If you get sick, you know where to come for support and help. I hate to sound bitchy but we are SICK here - SOME OF US ARE VERY VERY VERY SICK. And you are asking us if you should get implants. HECK NO!!! Nobody on this board is going to support you in this - NOBODY. Lynn Re: Hair Loss>>Believe me, I know what you mean. Guest guest
I never forget for a moment why I got the implants. I will always in a sense " want " implants, there is no doubt about that. I loved having bigger breasts. I know I can't have them anymore, and that is difficult to live with everyday when 95% of my friends and female family members have them. I think it's really not fair. We all know what you are going through. I just wanted to have that " feeling " of having breasts. Now, although I miss my implants, that is nothing compared to the want to have my health back. But, I still will never forget why I wanted them, you never do. ~Krista > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Stephie, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Some women do have some hair loss after > > >surgery - > > > > > any > > > > > > > > kind > > > > > > > > > of > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > surgery . . . as well as with implants. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > It should grow back as you begin feeling better. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > How are you feeling today? . . . Guest guest
Ballerina ~ I hope that you do try this. I will be real curious as to how it works, and what peoples reactions will be, mostly how it will make YOU feel. A tidbit more info ~ Silicone kills your NK cells. Those are the cells that fight cancer that you have inside you keeping your body in good shape. I have had cancer twice now. Cervical ( 1995), and colon ( jan 2007). I have a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted inside my chest with 3 wires that go into my heart. I have stage 2-3 kidney disease, spots on my liver and moderate to severe lung obstruction without emphysema, osteoporosis, and severe arthritis and myalgia and fibromyalgia, and lovely chemical (silicone) induced lupus. My body is attacking itself because it has been fighting silicone for so many years, and these salines too, it has "silicone-alsheimers" and does not know how to protect me anymore, so it attacks everything, especially my internal organs. My heart has been too weak to have surgery to remove these salines I am only 53. I have been told many times I am dying over the past 13 years. This is not true, I am not. I just have a body that does not know how to operate with all these chemicals inside me, and I too, will get well, once explanted and detoxed properly. I know it will take time, but what do I have to loose? Nothing as I have already lost it all..............except my will to live, and my drive to put a smile in someone's day, every day, and to help teach people that God made every single one of us perfect.........that includes those with physical and mental challenges........as perfect is only a perception.........nothing more....... Perfect comes from within, and shines as bright as you will allow........ Battlefield of the mind is very challenging....... Love yourself enough to listen to the wise one..... The wise one always makes the right choices...... Love ~ Hope, and Blessings ~ Dede Before implants, I was a very active single mother of 2. Studied Marshall arts, and was extremely healthy. After implants, within 2 years, I had deteriorated by leaps and bounds. It is like my immune system just turned off. Please some chances/risks just arent worth taking. Besides, you are perfect already nothing can change that.....See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
Guest guest
Sweetie ~ Why dont you try braless..... Nipples are sexy ~ feeling your clothes rub on them is sexy...... Many people loose that sensation when implanted.... Do you want to chance loosing sensation? Did you know that with implants you worry that your intimate partner may burst them during intimate times? So, that is what you are thinking about and not what you are doing.......ruins the mood...... Who do you think is sexiest Kate Hudson.....or Pamela ? Which one would you rather hold a conversation with? Which one would you trust most? See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
Ballerina ~ Bless your heart. I do want you to know, I understand your battle , much more than you know. It is wonderful to have a new sister , and I am so glad you found the group. Most of all we are a sisterhood and we all love unconditionally, there is no judging, and we all support each other and there is always someone here with open arms and open ears..... Guest guest
Ballerina ~ It is not hard at all for me to understand you.... I understand completely....I am also thick headed, I have just changed what I am thick headed about... I also grew up believing that people like doctors, Priests, the government, ( FDA), and big corporations, and all were to be trusted. To respect them and trust what they say. It must be correct or true, they are doctors, and they are trustworthy, they are men of God or it is a drug company, or a research center. I think that has been a huge lesson for me. The only reason I have salines in right now is because I wasnt suposed to outlive them.......I I trusted what I was told, as they were doctors ! I am alive......very much alive..........but have been too ill to have another surgery. I cant do all that detox and all, not now. My heart wouldnt be able to handle it. It is as fragile as butterfly wings......Dr Kolb will remove the implants as soon as my heart doctors say it is ok. No one in Texas will touch me cuz of my heart . It is these implants that are making me so sick tho, so it is a catch 22. Just before getting cardiac clearance this summer, I had a heart episode and was shocked 6 times by this defibrillator, 830 volts each time. It almost killed me. My heart was stopped for 9 min 58 seconds. Well, it was spasing out or quivering instead of beating. So, anyway, what I do tho is eat lots of raw veges, have salad every single day. I drink kefir a couple times a day which I make, it is fermented milk that is full of vitamins and probiotics and healthy balanced organisms for my digestive system and intestines. I swear by it. I eat garlic a couple days in a row about every week or two as I herx bad, and have to be careful. I also take 3/4 tsp of xylitol every day, it kills bacteria and fungal organisms too, but is subtle. I drink lots of purified water with minerals, I take magnesium and calcium with D a couple times a day, and I take Co Enzyme Q 10, flax oil gels 2 times a day and a senior vitamin. I make sure I laugh every single day....... I am a very spiritual person , and I am goofy as hell, so I do laugh alot.... God Bless ~ Dede See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
Ballerina ~ It is my pleasure. Ya know, what would you rather be doing, A. standing in the middle of a couple guys drooling and oogeling like some babbeling idiots, while you enjoy a moment of attention to your boobs, not you, or your intelligence... ( Somehow boobs tend to make many men stupid ) B. Or be out there being the gymnast that people love watching and admire..... You know, I keep reading your posts and I see two areas that you are batteling....... self love and embracing your already perfect body man attention - deficit ......you are being ignored by your husband while he feeds his sports addiction..... You cant fix someones elses addiction........to anything...... Your hubbys addiction leaves you bored.... You can fix that by filling your life with what you love and enjoy doing. Then you will be to busy to get bored, or ever feel left out......because you wont be ! Since you will be doing what you love you will be happy, very happy......... Guest guest
Thanks. This is an interesting approach.I will try. Re: Implant Denial Ballerina ~ When you get implants, you N E V E R , E V E R ..........forget. ........why you got them..... nor why you got rid of them........ .it is forever tatoo'd in your memory bank........ Remember what you learned in kindergarden. ..... " There are always consequences for your actions.... " I double dog dare you ........... what a challenge, huh?? To take 3 weeks and pretend you love your body and are the most beautiful, confident, smart, and sexy woman in the whole wide world. .....take notes and then tell me what it was like, how people reacted to you, men and women, co-workers, bosses, friends, and people you had interaction with that you did not know, tell me how you felt, and how you felt about yourself.... ..... Ya know, they say that ya do something repeatedly for 3 weeks, that it becomes a habit...... Love Hugs and Hope~ DedeSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Never miss a thing. Guest guest
I have no hope of growing. I'm 37. I've had no biological children and won't be using that method to acquire kids. I've got the best 2 stepkids in the world, and if we want more, we'll adopt. Have I shopped at 's Secret?.... part of the reason I was getting these implants was that the return on investment seemed wise. I own over 400 bras, many of which are from 's Secret, and all of which I purchased over the last year and half during this most painful time in my life of being horribly self-conscious. I think I own one of every padded bra in existence right now. Many of mine came from overseas because I ran out of options in the US (I shopped on the Internet and kept getting my credit card turned off. They thought it was fraudulent use because I'd buy from Brazil, France, and the UK on the same day)Sometimes I wear 2 bras at a time to get a better look, but this is very painful. Of course I own many silicone gel inserts and I even own prostheses for trans-genders. These look pretty good, but get askew inside the bra, and the nipples point in crazy directions when that happens. I haven't figured out how to hold them in place.I think I've tried everything except actual implants. It's so depressing. Re: Implant Denial Ballerina . Rogene Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Lynn,Sorry if you took my message wrong. I wasn't meaning to ask if I should get implants. I know I shouldn't. I'm looking for support in living without them. They were my last hope and now that hope is gone. If it makes you feel better, I have plenty of autoimmune related problems anyway, even not having had them. I am going to do some of the detox stuff on this site to see if it helps. Guest guest
Ballerina, I am sorry that I sounded so negative. I would just hate for you to get sick. I wouldn't wish this illness on my worst enemy. Getting implants would be a risk. Not sure how many people get sick? Not sure how many people who are sick right now that don't even realize it is their implants. I was shocked to find out how many were sick when I found this board. I had no idea it was my implants making me sick. But, when I read that they women here were going through the same issues that I was going through - the light bulb came on! It was bittersweet. I was glad to know I could beat it and I wasn't alone, but I was sad that other women were suffering because I knew how bad it was. I used to stuff my bra was so much padding prior to implants too. Didn't have the money for the gel implants, or I am sure I would have tried that too. I would give anything in the world to turn back time and buy gel implants, stuff my bra. I was a 34 B before implant. I was a C with implants. I am now an very small A!! My breasts have scars now. I get angry with myself when I think what I did for vanity. Look at all the beautiful women with small breasts - Kate Hudson, Eva Longoria, Cameron . Then I think of women with fake boobs - yuck. It is so very obvious, and no unnatural. I do not know what the heck I was thinking. Hugs, Lynn Re: Hair Loss>>Believe me, I know what you mean. I sometimes think that I won't get>well unless I forgive myself for this mistake. Guest guest
Thanks so much for your messages and time. It must be hard to understand/deal with someone who is so thick-headed (me) even when faced with all of the reality on this site. I'm just having a hard time suddenly adjusting to this new reality, after seeing numerous studies that there was no link between implants and autoimmune disease. But my thinking is obviously shifting very quickly- it's just hard to give up the dream, and realize I'm going to have to find a way to live with myself "as is". I'll get there.I didn't know you still had your implants in. Do you practice all of the detox anyway, and does it help? One thing I was wondering was about teeth. Mercury filling leak. I know because I am in the process of getting my leaking ones swapped out for the other material (the white stuff). The dentist told me that bacteria can enter the bloodstream through untreated dental problems- like if someone needs a cavity and doesn't get it filled. Has anyone ever tried swapping mercury for white stuff & making sure all dental bases are covered to see if that helps with the autoimmune response to implants? Additional bacteria (from dental mishap) just can't make things any better! I just thought I'd throw it out as a possibility for symptom improvement if it hasn't been discussed already. I'm no doctor- I'm just trying to suck all this new stuff in and make sense of it. The doctor said that she has an MS patient who got rid of all of her mercury to get rid of her chronic pain, but it didn't work. It didn't work for Montel either. But she said if someone's mercury fillings were leaking, like mine are, then that could cause bodily problems. Re: Implant Denial Ballerina ~ I hope that you do try this. I have a pacemaker/defibrill ator implanted inside my chest with 3 wires that go into my heart. I have stage 2-3 kidney disease, spots on my liver and moderate to severe lung obstruction without emphysema, osteoporosis, and severe arthritis and myalgia and fibromyalgia, and lovely chemical (silicone) induced lupus. My body is attacking itself because it has been fighting silicone for so many years, and these salines too, it has "silicone-alsheimer s" and does not know how to protect me anymore, so it attacks everything, especially my internal organs. Nothing as I have already lost it all......... .....except my will to live, and my drive to put a smile in someone's day, every day, and to help teach people that God made every single one of us perfect..... ....that includes those with physical and mental challenges.. ......as perfect is only a perception.. .......nothing more........ Perfect comes from within, and shines as bright as you will allow....... . Battlefield of the mind is very challenging. ....... Love yourself enough to listen to the wise one..... The wise one always makes the right choices..... . Guest guest
I agree 100% with Lynn. We all got the implants for the same reason....we wanted to feel sexier for our husbands and be more confident in our bodies. While that might have last a short period of time, it does not last. After awhile, the hubbies (and yourself) soon grow tired of the implants and like everything the newness wears off and you realize you have wrecked your body and life is still the same. Implants do not change your life, they do not change who you are on the inside. The only thing the implants did for me was give me something to put in a swimming suit top for a few years, and now extremely poor health at the age of 29. Do I feel sexy for my hubby now? He** no! My breasts are now smaller then they were pre-implant, they are uneven in size, they have scars on them, I have little to no energy, I am sick all the time. I feel like the most unsexy woman in the world! Don't let all the hype about implants get in your head. It is simply un-true. ~Krista > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Stephie, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Some women do have some hair loss after > >surgery - > > > > any > > > > > > > kind > > > > > > > > of > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > surgery . .. . as well as with implants. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > It should grow back as you begin feeling better. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > How are you feeling today? . . . Guest guest
Many women without mercury fillings have serious problems with breast implants. Both are bad. Some women now, after implant removal, are so toxic they also have to have all mercury taken out of their teeth. Lynda At 08:47 AM 11/18/2007, you wrote: >Thanks so much for your messages and time. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice. It's timely. I've been challenging myself lately to wear wireless bras to work rather than the bulky padded wired bras I'd been wearing. It's been liberating. I watched a movie about gymnasts last night, which made me feel a little better, but then there was a line in it where this one girl (a non-gymnast) had boys talking to her, and one gymnast asked her fellow gymnasts, "What does she have that we don't?" The other gymnasts replied, "A life", "Time", and "Boobs". AARRGGHH. You can't get away from it in this boob mania culture. Re: Implant Denial Sweetie ~ Why dont you try braless..... Nipples are sexy ~ feeling your clothes rub on them is sexy...... Many people loose that sensation when implanted... .. Do you want to chance loosing sensation? Did you know that with implants you worry that your intimate partner may burst them during intimate times? So, that is what you are thinking about and not what you are doing....... ruins the mood...... Who do you think is sexiest Kate Hudson.....or Pamela ? Which one would you rather hold a conversation with? Which one would you trust most? See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
Ballerina, I think the best investment you could make would be to see a counselor to help you deal with your self-esteem issues. I say that because I am a social worker and was a counselor, and it is very obvious to me that you need help with your body image and your self-esteem. Many women have been implanted for this reason and still had the issues, it just covered them up for a while. Later, when they got sick, they not only had to deal with all the medical cost of explant, but also with the same issues that pushed them to get implants in the first place. Guest guest
Polls done show most men prefer real breasts, even small ones, to fake ones. Women lose sensitivity in their nipples from implants. Implants look fake. Only a small minority of shallow men prefer implanted breasts, most men want real women. Guest guest
I understand perfectly what she is going through, mine was that my nose was too big and I had buck teeth. We all have something about our bodies we don't like and that causes us self-esteem issues. Lynda At 08:56 AM 11/18/2007, you wrote: >Lynda- Yup, this is me to a T. Guest guest
Lynda-Have you heard of BDD (body dysmorphic disorder)? I think that's what I have. I have an appt. for a diagnosis on Dec. 10. I read The Broken Mirror and my symptoms are EXACT for this disorder. I'll be stunned if they say I don't have it. The treatment for it includes serotonin reuptake inhibiters (SRIs) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I'll let you know how it goes.
