GF Play Doh recipe

Here's the recipe from the Celiac.com website. I've not used it, but the reviews are good. It's pretty easy and quick.

Prep Time:

5 minutes

Cook Time:

3 minutes

Total Time:

8 minutes

Ingredients:

1/2 cup rice flour1/2 cup corn starch1/2 cup salt2 tsp cream of tarter1 cup water1 tsp cooking oilFood coloring, if desired

Preparation:

Mix

ingredients. Cook and stir on low heat for 3 minutes or until mixture forms a

ball. Cool completely before storing in a sealable plastic bag.

I thought cream of tartar was used as a binding agent in play doh, so the lemon juice wouldn't be a suitable substitute in this instance. Perhaps Xanthan gum instead? (My recipe also calls for a T of oil.)
