Guest guest
Hmmm. Breakfast: egg beaters, one slice of toast or Legg-o waffle and coffee. Lunch: either a salad with few tomatoes, often with tofu, or cottage cheese with berries or half a sandwich with meat and cheese and a tomato slice and something sugarless to drink. Dinner: meat substance of some sort, half potato ¾ cup Dreamfield pasta with small amount of spaghetti sauce, salad and vegetable. I do not drink milk just because I don’t like it and use Splenda in coffee and nothing in ice tea. The problem I sometimes have is when I go out to eat, I often tell them not to give the potato or rice, but then I usually eat a piece of bread (my downfall). Sometimes I eat only a meat substance at a meal and then have fresh fruit like apricots or a peach. I love bananas, but am having kidney problems after all these years, so just don’t eat them anymore. Once in awhile I do eat brown rice, but it just kills the BG later than does white rice, so I don’t do that often. I often substitute spaghetti squash for regular spaghetti. Dreamfields’s does seem to “work” for me, but I now that really varies between people. I just try not to eat spaghetti too often as I could literally drink spaghetti sauce! I love it! So I try to make it in small amounts and not often! I’ll try to think of other things I eat that are low carbs for meals. I find, for me, breakfast is the easiest to eat low carb-other meals are not so easy. Today, I went out to lunch and had a chicken sandwich, but ate only half the bread and jus the insides of the sandwich. My BG before lunch was 75 and 2 hours later was 124. Question for patricia , could you share some of your meals you eat for 30 carbs? It is hard sometimes to do 30 permeal. Give us a daily mean you find enjoyable. Guest guest
speakng of lunchy yesterday I ate out for lonch at the 99 restaurant. They had talapeta fish cooked cajun style. there was jasmine rice with it and way too much so after a cup or so that was it. I also had soup, not sure on the carbs but I thought I wouldn't be full without it, yah right. I need to learn to order the soup after if I am still hungry or order a salad, as it is more dependable. I often have oatmeal for breakfast with cinnamon in it and a little milk. Some cereals aren't bad for carbs especially if you aren't having a lot of other things with them. Chereos, some of the other flake cereals and my brain isn't bringing them up at the moment are rich in fiber and low in carbs. Sometimes I make french toast with my low-carb bread, about 8 carbs per slice, so I take 2 and put milk, vanilla, splenda, and cinnamon and fry it up and put sugar-free syrup on it, if I want to, it's good plain. A small banana or orange goes nicely with lots of coffee with splenda. Okay, who's next? I bet lots of you have some ideas, but if they are high carb we will have the moderator find some extra work for you to do. lol Vicki " God commenteth his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Guest guest
Thanks Pat. I am not much on pasta but Joe is, I like rice sometime but most of the time at dinner a meat portion and vegetable, maybe some frozen yogurt later as a treat. Sometimes it does get boring but what else can we do. Take care and to others thanks for your ideas also. and Joe Question for patricia , could you share some of your meals you eat for 30 carbs?
