yogurt is so sour - I ruined a soup with it

Hi,

Our first yogurt was made with organic whole milk and was really

sour. It did ok in a cake I made ( lemon) and was even perfect in it.

I tried to treat it as a substitute for sour cream and melted some in

a soup and it tasted like vinegar. Gross! We are making another

batch with half and half. I believe Lucy at Lucy's kitchen told me

to do that. My biggest struggle is the loss of cream. We love cream

soups. Anyhow, is the yogurt supposed to be so sour?
