Hi Everyone,

I talk a lot with my clients about living your life now and finding

meaning in your life, regardless of your weight, or whatever is holding you

back. It’s so common to say that you’ll pursue a dream, go on

vacation, start a business, or whatever it is after you lose weight. Part of

acceptance is living for the now, or in the words of my favorite country

artist, Darryl Worley, “Living in the Here and Now” (one of the

lines is “I don’t ever buy green bananas”, I love that).

Anyway, this was sent to me by my IE mentor and I wanted to pass it along.

You may have seen it, it’s been going around the

internet. It’s a lecture by a professor who is dying of cancer. But he

doesn’t talk about death, he talks about living your life, persuing your

dreams, and really enjoying whatever time you have on this earth. It’s a

really good reminder. I often have to remind myself that I only have this

moment, nothing else is guaranteed. I think this is what finally compelled me

to go to Nashville

on vacation last year, even though I had all kinds of reasons not to go, like

being away from my business, not enough money, the list goes on. I have never

had so much fun and it changed my life. Anyway, I really wanted to share this

with you. It’s about 11 minutes, and worth every second. I’d love

your thoughts after you watch it: http://video.stumbleupon.com/#p=ithct48cqw

Thanks!

Hi Gillian! Thanks so much for posting this video. It truly is amazing. What a great man he is. I loved the part about his car and nephew. "Living for the now" is one thing I am trying hard to do in my life. I've spent so much time "waiting" for something to happen. Waiting to find a man and get married, waiting to have children someday, waiting to buy a house, even waiting to go to Fan Fair like you! I've never heard that Darryl Worley song but it also reminds me of "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw. Thanks again for posting it! I’m so glad you liked it! I thought

it was quite powerful.

It’s so common for us to be waiting for

something before we take action, and I have really been trying to remember all

I know is right now and it’s important to live life fully as much as

possible. If you get a chance, you can hear the Darryl Worley song at my

MySpace page, http://www.myspace.com/countrygirlgillian.

Don’t laugh at my page, it’s my “other life”. J You’re right, the

song is kind of like “Live Like You Were Dying”. I love that song.

We all could use staying in the moment a lot more.

Thanks!
