Thank you to all have written me and have had kind words. My husband Joe

and I are enjoying this e-mail communication. I have been diabetic for 34

years, blind 26 of those years. Metabolic Activated Therphy has been in our

town 3 years. Don't know if saying where we live is allowed. Out in

California it has been going on for 20 years. There is a group of diabetic

doctors who are involved in this, so I figure I have nothing to lose in

trying. I start December 11, the facts I know so far are as follows, it is

one day a week, 6 hours a day, they feed you food and sugared drinks,

normally we don't eat! For 3 of hours you are there you are on an I.V. drip

pluse insulin and more or less it is a research study. It is covered by

Medi-care and supplement insurance. That's not why I am trying, there is a

chance it can stabilize kidney function, help with neuropathy in feet and or

hands. Plus over all help with A1C etc. The only side effect they know of

is when you get back home you are tired and need a nap. So basically that

is all for now. Thanks again for making us welcome. and Joe

Hi

Let me offer my official welcome to this list. I am fairly new myself,

having just joined a week or so ago. I am interested in this metabolic

activation therapy and will try to do some research into finding out whether

it is offered anywhere near where I live when I have time. I live in

Columbus, Ohio. I think whether you keep where you live private on this

list is just a matter of personal preference.
