Hi, List,

Remember a few days ago when we were discussing whether

" cardiomediastinum " is a word? I sent some of our messgae

traffic on to Dr. Charlotte who teaches all of our

A & P courses--to ADN nursing students, to LPN nursing

students, and to the allied health/medical office students.

Here's what she had to say on the topic:

That was an interesting interpretation. When I was in x-ray school, we

were taught (by Dr. Tristan, chief radiologist at Polyclinic Medical

Center in burg, PA) cardiomediastinum referred to the heart

(cardio) and great vessels, tracheal, esophagus, thymus, lymph nodes, and

connective tissue included the in mediastinum.
