How many of you use EDispatches, a service in which a text message to your

cellphones whenever your pager tones are transmitted?  Once receiving the text,

you then call into a phone number shown then enter your code number which then

allows you to hear the message transmitted on the radio whether it be an actual

emergency or a test.

Many of us in northern New Jersey have been very happy with the service which is

helpful when out of pager range or if the pager is not functioning properly.

This is a good back up not primary because the texts may be delayed by a few

minutes or even longer depending on their priority.

To learn more about EDispatches, visit the web site including the call log for

the past 24 hours and listen to sample messages.  If you click on FD or

TriBoro you might hear me.

While most of the fire departments, first aid/ambulance squads, and other public

safety services are from NJ, there are also users in IL, MA, MD, ME, NY, PA, SC,

VT and WI at this time.

I have no interest in the service other than as a satisfied consumer.
