When officers call out....

When your officers call out for a motor vehicle stop, disabled vehicle or

something else along the roadway, do they give their location as " across

from.... " ? Ours didn't use to do this but in the past 3 years have made it a

way of life especially on our six lane divided highway where the patrols (2 to 4

cars on at a time) might each call in 20 to 50 stops a shift. I asked several

of the older guys about it with them saying that the younger cops are reporting

what they see when they exit the patrol car.
