Guest guest
Wow, that is a big cat. My mum had a cat that looked just like that, same colouring, same weight. He could hardly walk. Glad to hear he's trimmed down a little. He does look like a lot to cuddle Kate (Who LOVES cats!) Fat cat contest ? All this talk about animals and weight...I just HAVE to show you all these... When my grandmother moved into 'the home' I got to keep the cat *sigh* ever see anything like it?? Consider these her "during" photos, she'd already lost some weight by this time, and she's maybe a pound or two less by now Adria
Guest guest
Okay, so I will settle for Pepper weighing 16 pounds. Jean190/142/13512/7/
Guest guest
When we adopted our Sherman (corgi mix), he weighed 18 pounds instead of the 25 or so he should weigh, he had kennel cough, and he refused to eat anything but canned dog food. (We didn't buy canned, they gave it to us at the county shelter.) We tried everything. If we mixed canned with dry, he would eat the canned and spit out the dry. We went cold turkey - dry food only. He ate nothing for four days. It broke our hearts because he was already so thin and sick. Finally he ate. We did try several dry dog foods before he ate with any enthusiasm, but now he does. (We just bought the smallest bags we could of each.) We give him BilJac now, which he loves. It's expensive, but we give him the quantity it says and it lasts quite a while. I did some reading on the subject. Everything said that animals could go a longer without food than you would think. Of course, they always need lots of water available. Just our experience. Guest guest
I *just* give her dry food, which she doesn't inhale like she would the soft stuff, so I fill the bowl twice a day, my other cats get a little meat from leftovers but I try to avoid giving her any Adria ----- Adria, How did you get Psycho to lose weight with other cats around? It really doesn't seem like Pepper eats that much any more and I do track it better now that I got rid of the self-feeder. Pepper is one of three also and it is harder with other cats around. She won't touch wet food other than canned tuna or chicken fit for human consumption, but she loves the carb laden dry stuff. Jean
Guest guest
Ahh yes, Raccoon. My DH's name for her "that bloody raccoon" or "freaky badger" she's just about the same colouring as a raccoon.. I've kept out of this, but now I can't... :)My cat, Norm, is 22 lbs. He doesn't eat a LOT - his weight gain occurredafter he was fixed. I have the most precious picture of him lying on his back, all sprawled out, next to my (then) 1 mos old son. When I take Norm to the vet, people look in his crate and say "Is that araccoon?" (Norm is a tabby).
Guest guest
, we didn't weigh her when we got her, I'd say shes lost about 10 pounds, so I guess she was probably 25+ and *I* don't feed her that stuff, t'was my 82 year old grandma Adria she's down to 16 pounds though now! Guest guest
your right CatKins I would like to ask a question. On yogurt, Kefir, did someone not say that the ezyme eat the sugar so you do not count it. Someone did creme yogurt, plain how many calories would that be. fd ----- Original Message ----- > Would that version of Atkins be called cAtkins? > > Terry

Guest guest
Fleurette, For yogurt, I have seen some people claim that the fermentation process consumes the natural sugar in the yogurt. This is for unsweetened, unflavored yogurt only. Not the kind that has the added sugar and flavorings. If you choose to use plain, unsweetened, unflavored yogurt, do so at your own risk, counting all carbs in it just to be on the safe side, just as you would with any other food, and then pay particular attention to whether it creates a weight loss problem for you or not.
