Guest guest
I just wanted to let all of you know that had his transplant on Tuesday. As most of you know I was his donor. We both went home yesterday. We're both a little sore at our incision sites, and a little wiped out from the whole ordeal, BUT the kidney is doing wonderfully!!! His creatinin went from 6.2 before the surgery to 1.4 on Thursday. I'm sure as soon as he feel up to it he will be posting, but you have all been so kind and supportive I wanted to give you an update. For any of you waiting for a live donor transplant, I would be happy to share my experience with any potential donor. I would do it again in a minute, when I heard how the kidney was making urine, and his creatinin levels were getting lower, I was the happiest sister ever!! Very gratifing to have been a part of such a wonderful thing!! Thank you all for your prayers and support!!!!! Barbara

Guest guest
Hi Barb, It is so wonderful to hear from you! I'm truly amazed at how fast it seems that both transplant recipients and donors recover from this major surgery and are released from the hospital. Hopefully he will be able to maintain the 1.4 creatinine levels. How are you doing? Has your creatinine level changed at all? What will be your estimated recuperation time? Other than the incision site, do you have any pain, tenderness, etc? Thank you for the offer to share your experiences here. Don't be a stranger, keep us posted at anytime how you are both doing.
