Hi Beth,

Welcome to our site. I am guessing either you or a loved one has been

diagnosed with IgAN, and so I am sorry you have reason to find our way here.

However, if that is the case, you have come to the right place for

information, support and encouragement.

Welcome again!

Hi beth,

Your test worked :o) I'm relatively new too but thought I'd say Hi.

Sorry that you've ended up here but there are lot of people here who will

give you very good and detailed information and support - they are great

peeps :o) Afraid I've only just learned I probably have IgAN and have

little info to offer but I hear a rumour I'm going to be offered the role of

joker!

Seriously .... I've found this place a power of help and hope you do

too :o)

Dave

Hi Beth,

I am not knowledgeable about Lupus Nephritis, but you are still welcome to

hang around here. Cy's son does not have IgAN either and much of what we

talk about is general kidney information.

If there is a lupus nephritis site, you may find them a better source of

information and support for lupus related topics, but is not, feel welcome to

stay

here with us.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply. I do not know anyone who has the same problems as

me. But I am in stage 1 CKD and I have Lupus Nephritis. I was just

diagnosed last year with Lupus and kidney damage. I am fortunate that it

was diagnosed early. I do wonder what is going on in my kidneys as you

can't tell without the test.

Looking forward to being part of the group.

Hi Beth,

I will never forget the beautiful, beautiful flowers sent to me when my son

was first diagnosed with MPGN - from a woman who's daughter had lupus

nephritis. I attended a meeting at Stanford with many lupus patients and

from what I could piece together, the proliferative nature of lupus

nephritis was almost identical to MPGN - which is is similar in many

respects to IgAN. I know for us, it's easier to focus upon the similarities

between different renal diseases (although, I admit, I didn't say that

initially). Welcome to the list! I look forward to hearing form you.

Hello Cy,

Thanks for responding. I have learned a lot about Lupus, but it has so

many different characteristics. My kidneys have always been weaker that

normal. It is interesting that they are the organs that the lupus

attacked. It is nice to know there are those out there who understand.
