Guest guest
, Are you sure it is the baby? WOW! All of the books I've read say that you really won't feel anything until at least 14 weeks, but more than likely between 18-22. I think felt something around 16. My Dr. also said it is usually around 16-18. If you've already felt the baby at 12 or 13, then you are really lucky!!! elle 17 weeks > Hi Elle, > I actually felt some fluttering a few times already. Hi Elle, How did you get Mark to read it? I can't get to read anything! He will be somewhat tolerable if I read to him, and will lay perfectly still if I rub his back while I'm reading! It's really tough because he works so many hours that when he finally comes home, he doesn't want to think at all. maria 13 weeks
Guest guest
Elle and , You guys are so lucky that your dh's are interested in reading and learning about babies! delivered babies early in his residency when he was an emergency room doctor, you can't tell him a thing! I think he > appreciated having something that was focused solely on his feelings > and not just mine. Elle, That is wonderful! Congratulations! I can't wait to see the look on 's face when I tell him that he's going to Lamaze with me! We're already discussed his being in the delivery room. He wasn't allowed in with his first children because he made the medical staff too nervous. I really believe my Ob will be confident enough to not be " bothered " by 's presence, I'm planning on discussing it with him at the appropriate time. maria 13 weeks

With my ep I could " feel " that I was pregnant at only 6 days. My doctor said that does happen, but it's rare. I guess I just always pay so much attention to my body that I know when something new happens. I only felt the fluttering twice, but it was really amazing. maria 13 weeks
Guest guest
Thanks ! We are really looking forward to getting away and relaxing! I hope you're right! Last night I decided that I am just going to hold my head up and be proud that I am pg. It's just so strange when normally I am thin and in a bikini........but, it's been a really long road getting here, so I am just going to enjoy it! Guest guest
Pam, My Dr. told me it is usually between 16-18 weeks and all the books say 18-22, so it should be very soon! I know at my Amnio u/s, the baby was kicking and the tech asked if I could feel it. I couldn't and my Dr. said it was too early to feel a baby kicking. I was 15w6d then. So............I guess we just wait! I feel the stretching pain mostly when I wake up in the morning. I guess the muscles have relaxed some through the night. I haven't been able to get comfortable sleeping either. I've read not to sleep on your back or tummy by this point in pg, so that only leaves sleeping on your side. I feel like I just toss and turn sides all night long, in between getting up to pee 2-3 times! Thanks! We're looking forward to our trip. It may be one of the last ones we have just the two of us! Hopefully the weather will start getting warmer there soon and you can wear your bathing suit! Don't you have your AFP test this week???? I'll be thinking of you! Take care and don't clean or work too hard! elle 17 weeks > Elle > > I am the same as you. I think I feel something. But not sure what it > is. We should be feeling something soon I hope. Guest guest
That book sounds good...I need to get something like that for dp. He asked the nurse at my appt on Friday, when we get to the 3rd trimester do they start taking both of our blood pressures, just in case dad might develop high blood pressure too! Ha Ha..funny guy! He thought so anyway... -AmyR
Guest guest
Amy, It's a great book, so I think he might really enjoy it. It sounds like DP is planning on taking an active role and that is wonderful! I'm so thrilled that my DH is so into this pg and learning as much as he can. He's just so excited! Also, regarding your question about Rollarblading ~ I would stay away from any sport that could be dangerous to you or the baby. If you were to fall, it could be serious, so I would not risk it. The best exercises during pg are walking, swimming and Yoga. You won't be able to exercise like you used to, so even though you want to be active, your body will tell you when you should stop. Good Luck! elle 17 weeks > That book sounds good...I need to get something like that for dp. I hope your pains go away and everything is ok 6wk6d Re: Elle Pam,Have fun tonight! It should be really interesting to hear about all of the different birthing options!I hope your appt goes well tomorrow. Hopefully the "pain" you have is just gas and/or constipation or it could just be the uterus stretching. The only thing better, will be holding my little angel in my arms........... Then, we'll start working on #2!!! With any luck, I won't be able to do the swimsuit modeling for several years!!! Guest guest
Elle, I have thrown out a couple of baby names out to my dh but since he has such a long last name (12 letters) he wants to keep it simple. I love the name Madison for a girl and I have always liked the names or for a boy. I am sure the list will continue to grow and grow. The u/s sounds so amazing, I can't wait to hear about all the details. You are going to definitely have a good day tomorrow!! I was watching Regis and (show on in the mornings) and she is pg and a couple of week ago they did this u/s on her during the show, it sounds like the one you are going to have. It was in color and you could make out the face and all. It was incredible!!! Have fun!! Update on Elle> > > > > >> > > > > >> > > > > > I just got back from my checkup. Guest guest
Vicki, Thanks! I just posted about the high resolution u/s ~ it was incredible! I actually had the 3D with the amnio, and it was amazing! This one is brand new and I guess even more high tech than the 3D. Anyway, I'm glad work is bearable and not too demanding!
