a,

I see my doctor next Wed. May 9th and I am going to ask him about changing vitamins cause I do think that might be a part of it. I am feeling better today, but it seems to kinda have it's days. Hopefully I am starting to get over the hump with it and be able to enjoy being pg!!

a,

Thanks for confirming it's not just me who finds something new to

worry about after other fears are assuaged. That's great about your

big u/s coming up. Will it be at 21 weeks then? I imagine they can see

an awful lot of development by that point. I guess I would be

excited/little nervous too about that, but think about what great news

you're going to get from it! Thank you.

I forgot to add today was 6 weeks exactly from af. I also forgot to

tell you thanks for the CL info. I was really obsessing over it for

some reason.

We're all on the same vibe tonight , your note is ditto mine of

a few moments ago - posting very similar notes at the same time. So

there you go a - look forward to posting more later ...

Well... I would say it is not working... everything she ate today is gone and

I think I may have to go down to the Onc as well and drive home the point

I'm sorry, a...it is so irritating to try to work with some of these docs

at times. I ended up having asked my onc three times before he agreed to

allow me to increase my dose of Xeloda. When I then asked about adding

Celebrex,

he immediately said yes even though I remember asking him about it when I

first started on Xeloda (back in the summer) and his response was a no. I

wonder

if sometimes they just dig their heels in and don't want to make a change for

fear it makes them look like they were wrong? Gawd, I hope not, but

sometimes I wonder.

I agree with you that being sick, sick, sick is no quality of life and if

there are other options - different meds, different treatment regime - to try,

then the dang docs should try them. Maybe there wouldn't be people out there

who give up due to side effects if the docs were a bit more creative when it

comes to managing care, especially for Stage IV folks.

If you end up having to talk to the doc (read: set him straight) then I wish

you luck and will be praying he will hear you.

Best to you and your mom,

Terry in you-know-where

I just read the emails about your mom's horrible nausea & meds not

working. I'm new to this whole thing so she may have already tried

this but my husband has 2 anti nausea drugs infused with his chemo

and then takes compazine every 6 hrs for 3 days following to prevent

nausea & vomiting.(He's on CPT-11/5FU/Lv) He takes more if he needs

but this has been working very well for him.I read the message about

it not being for those with liver involvement,I don't know about

that, my husband has extensive liver mets but his liver function

tests are pretty good considering.

Hang in there, there has to be something that will help! I really

admire your spirit and the way you're helping your mom. Our kids are

still too shocked by the diagnosis to help, instead I feel like I

spend more time consoling them than supporting my husband.

a- It would be worth letting the onc know about the acid reflux.

I was on Prevacid once daily (the standard dose) but was still having

problems with some nausea, so they have upped it to twice daily. It

helps me.

Hope things go better soon.

I so admire your strength and commitment to your parents. You are quite a

gal!

They can be very proud. I hope your Mom is a bit more comfortable and I'm

going to keep praying for all of you. May God's love surround you all. Please

take care of you too as much as you can. Your parents need you, and frankly so

do

we.

Your positive attitude and quiet calm in the midst of this storm is an

inspiration. I am sure you have your moments as we all do but you are doing a

fantastic job and I for one am so proud of you. I just wish there were a way to

take

away the pain of all this for you.

Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Feel free to write anytime.

God Bless you and your Dad

Narice
